Code Geass Clovis application: I also own the domain clovis.nu, and I’ve had it since 2009 so it isn’t going anywhere. Forgot to put that in my app.

See the comments for update notes.

If you have a question that this guide does not answer please leave a comment, or submit your question here and I’ll do my best to help you.

Because of the popularity of this post and the constant updates to it I’ve pinned this to the front page. Scroll down for newer posts.

The Great Pandemic has begun! Put on a cardboard mask (can be found floating around the site) and go to Shadowglen to get bitten. Check the progress of your virus with other users and kiss to get achivements in the event forums. Once you’re a zombie, head to Skitters Den to see all the zombie items you can buy. Have fun!

Atebus Revolution Masquerade (March probably) starts in a few weeks, so if you aren’t already a member register today so you are ready for all the Steampunk fun! My avatar to the left is sporting some of the clothes from the Steamworks Menagerie that will be available for you to purchase.

Subeta is one of the best virtual pet sites. It’s a smaller community, and that’s one of its charms. Unlike Neopets, you aren’t fighting tens of thousands of people for a single item. On a big site like Neopets it’s easy to become lost in the crowd. On Subeta it is easy to make money and integrate yourself into the site quickly. But, like any site, new users might have some trouble when they don’t know their way around. There are topics and FAQs to help new members, but it can be difficult sorting through so much information. Since so many people end up joining and never doing anything, and I have seen many searches for Subeta guides in my websites referral history, I decided to write the kind of guide I would like to have seen when I was a starting out there. This guide aims to be clear and concise, with all the information you could possibly need in one place. If you are looking for something in particular try pressing CTRL + F and searching for a keyword. If you have a question and you can find the answer here post a comment and I’ll help you as best I can. Not a member of Subeta yet, and not sure if you want to join? Check out all the awesome pets at the Neocolours Subeta page and all the well-dressed avatars at Style File.

guide to virtual pet site game subeta join subeta the virtual pet site game
subeta game virtual pet site avatar example Joining – The first thing you’re presented with when you go to Subeta is its beautiful human avatar and pet art. Clicking the orange “Join for Free” button takes you to the registration page where you choose your username for the site, as well as the look of your human avatar. Human avatars are your virtual representative on Subeta that you can dress up as you please. You can choose from many starter hair styles and colors, and several outfits. Both your username and clothes can be changed later, however it can cost upwards of 30 million sP to change your name, so try to choose something you’ll want to stick with.

Pet Creation – Once you are registered you can create your virtual pet by going to the Adopt a Pet page (Personal > Pets > Adopt a Pet) There are 58 to choose from, 6 being limited. The limited pets are Hipottu, Antlephore, Telenine, Sheeta, Cybill, and Kerubi. Limited pets are released randomly, but can also be created through elixirs for a minimal cost, some as low as 900 sP and can also be created through elixirs. The price and rarity of elixirs has been increased (see Cadogre and Endeavor under “Other Pets”) and cost million+. The Subeta pets basic design is nothing special, but no one gets a virtual pet intending to leave it as is. The various colors, such as Glade and Glacier, are exceptional. I suggest deciding which colors you want first so you know what pets to create.

If you don’t want to create a new pet, you can also adopt one from the pound, Adopt R Us (Explore > Veta Lake > Adopt R Us). There are usually quite a few basic colored pets (like dawn and field) as well as Experimenta pets. You can create a total of 5 pets with a normal account, and 5 more with a gold. Gold accounts can be purchased from the Cash Shop for $5 (500 CSC), or from the user shops for 9-10 million sP. With a gold account activated you can create 10 addition pets by using the Mystical Montre Plushie, or the Mystical Donadak Plushie, which give one and two pet slots respectively, for a total of 20 pets. For every year after the second year you are a member of the site you get a loyalty box, which can be used create more.

subeta game virtual pet care food feeding Pet Care – Taking care of your pets can be a hassle. They can go from bloated to starving in a matter of hours, and get bored very quickly. Toys are also generally one use items. It’s too expensive and time consuming to feed and buy toys for them constantly, so the easiest thing to do is put them in Veta’s Lakeview Resort. It costs 100 sP a day per pet. Just select the number of days and the lowest package, Basic. The Bronze, Silver, and Gold packages are a waste of sP.

subeta game virtual pet minion Like Neopets, you can play with your Subeta pets, read them books, attach minions (a smaller pet), and train them for battle. You can also attach items to your pets. My Chibi Harvester, Pad, has Chibi Harvester items in his treasure, and other people place items relating to the the character they’ve create for their pet. The amount of items you can add can be increased through random events, or a Cash Shop item called the Multi-Compartment Keepsake Box.

subeta game virtual pet battle Coliseum battling Pet Battle – You can battle challengers in the Battle Coliseum, to train your pets head to Riverside Valley’s Training Center. There you can train in levels, Strength, Defense, Health, and Speed. The higher your level is the more it costs to train, and there’s a limit to how high your strength, defense, health, and speed can get depending on what level you are. Battle items can be bought in the shop Defend and Conquer. Doing Battle Quests can also earn you items for your armory. Some battle items can be worn by placing them in your wardrobe.

subeta game virtual pet color potion Pet Colors – You can change the way your pet looks through potions. A list of pet colors and their corresponding potions can be found on the website Neocolours. Potions cost up to 30 million, the cheapest being around 1.5 million. Some potions are available in the Millionaire Center, Token Shop, and Cash Shop, and others can be created. Generally, when one is in the Millionaire Center or is made, it is cheaper to buy it there at the base price, or buy the items to create the potion, as the user shops usually charge several million more.

Chibi Potion – Buy from the Millionaire Center for 1.5 million.

Darkmatter Potion – Available for purchase in the Millionaire Center for 4 million.

Galactic – This is a special color available on the 6th and 7th of each month. At the Cave’s Quest (Explore > Coda Caves) select a pet to be blessed, then bring the item requested. There are not set gems you need to to complete the Cave’s Quest, it changes every time. They are usually very cheap, due to the amount of gems available, but keep several million on hand just in case. Even if you don’t want a Galactic pet I suggest you go to the caves on those days, as you get achievements for digging up gems.

Glade – Glade is one of the most popular colors on the site. Rather than buying a Glade potion, it is cheaper to purchase an Ornate Floral Pitcher and fill it at Peka Glade (available 8-9 am and 8-9 pm, Subeta time/EST). This turns the pitcher into a Glade potion.

Glacier – It is usually slightly cheaper to buy the items Artificial Prism Chalice and Bucket of Polar Water and combine them at Asmodeus Genetech Lab (Explore – Darkside – Asmodeus Genetech Lab) rather than purchase one already made.

Nuclear Potion – Unlike the above two, it is cheaper to buy the Nuclear Potion than to create it at Genetech, due to the cost of the Supercritical Core.

Hydrus – To create a Hydrus you must complete the Uncharted Land Map and then complete Merana’s quest.

Steamwork – Steamwork pets are one of the most expensive to create. They can be built or you can turn an existing pet into a steamwork one. Because the processes is more comlicated than the others, I won’t list the details here. You can find instructions on making a Steamwork pet here at Subeta (scroll down to the highlighted part).

Angelic Potion – Angelic Potions can be bought in the Cash Shop for 1500 credits, or from the user shops. Because it is a cash shop item, it costs more sP than most others.

Scribble – To obtain a scribble pet you must use the Potion of Purity.

Miracle Potion I and II – Like the Angelic Potion these are Cash Shop items (2000 credits), and can cost a great deal of sP. The Miracle Potion can change your pet into any color of available for it, except Hydrus, and the Miracle Potion II changes your pets species without changing its color.

Common Potion – The common potion will change your pet back to its default color.

Other Pets – There are several other special pets available on the site, Aeanoid, Experiment, Bumbus, Cadogre, and Endeavor. You can obtain Experiment pets through the V2 Zapper, and Aeanoid from an Aeanoid plant. Experiment pets can only be colored Scribble.

Aeanoid – Have a pet already created that you want to change. Purchase an Aeanoid plant in the color you want from Seedlings or a user shop, then plant it in the Gardens at Veta Lake. Set the pet you want to make Aeanoid as your active, and once the pet has grown the plant will attack it and change it to Aeanoid.

Experiment – Experiment pets can be zapped at the V2 Pet Zapper (Explore > Ziara > Pet Zapper Version 2), and costs Wizard Tokens. Of course, it does not always change your pet into an experiment type, and sometimes misses.

Bumbus – Bumbus pets are created in the Blue Building. The access the Blue Building you must meet a set of requirements, which can be found on the Blue Building page.

Cadogre and Endeavor – Cadogre and Endeavor are limited pets from Ziara’s Adoption Agency. Like the other limited pets, they are easily created using their elixirs. Unfortunately, due to a recent (Feb 2) update on Subeta the prices of elixirs have been raised, and they’ve all been removed from the vending machines. That means they’re more rare and cost more. Expect to spend at least few million if you want a Cadogre and Endeavor elixir.

Pet Zappers – For Wizard Tokens you zap your pet to change its color, gender, species, and stats. Most colors can be zapped, and the Version 2 pet zapper can change your pet to Experiment, zapping is random, and doesn’t always work. The first pet zapper is at the Carnival (Explore > Carnival Tent Picture > Pet Zapper), and the second is at Ziara (Explore > Ziara > Pet Zapper Version 2).

Pet Name Changing – You can change the name of your pet by using the Enchanted Hypnosis Wand, a cash shop item that costs 1000 CSC (cash shop credits), and sells in the user shops for around 20 million.

guide to subeta game virtual pet making sp Making sP – Of course all of these potions, clothes, etc, cost sP. Sometimes a lot of sP. So what’s a new user to do? For a new member seeing items cost 20,000,000 sP can seem quite daunting. It can seem like these things will never be within your reach. Fear not, because this site is not Neopets. All of these things are available to you. Within a month and 3 weeks of joining Subeta I earned a little over 101 million sP, dressed my human avatar up very nicely, and used potions on all 11 of my pets. I even have my next 9 planned. How did I do it? Through restocking and quests. These are the two best ways to earn sP on Subeta. There are games, but most aren’t big money makers except for Matlal’s Jewels, which you can probably earn at least 200000 sP a day from, or more if you are better at it than I am. If you want to earn sP your shop and doing daily quests are the way to go. And you don’t have to have super human reflexes to be a good restocker either. Because there’s fewer members, there’s fewer people to fight to get items.

guide to subeta game virtual pet restocking Restocking – You can create your shop by clicking the Your Shops link under Commerce. Choose a name, and add a shop description if you want. Then start looking for items to stock. When I first started I restocked at The Clothing Rack, Accessory Bin, and Magic Box. Now, I usually restock in whatever store I’m buying from at the time, whether it’s one of the above, Icy Goods in Arctic Frost, Beach Shack at Delphi, the Holiday Shop, etc.

guide to subeta game virtual pet wearables clothes Wearables usually sell faster than almost anything on the site, which is good because prices in the user shops decrease very fast. When restocking keep the shop search open to check the current selling price of the item. Unless the item is new or rare, this shouldn’t affect your chances of buying. If it item is selling for less than 10,000 sP, it isn’t worth buying it. If it costs 2000 sP and is selling for less than 20,000 sP, I usually don’t buy it. Items can go from selling 20000 or sP in the user shops down to 1000 in a day.

The best time for restocking is early in the morning EST (Subeta time) when there are less users online, except when the Holiday Shop is open (during holidays obviously). When new items are released this is also the optimal time to be online, because these do sell fast.

guide to subeta game virtual pet restocking Subeatique wearables Bad Restocking Stores – Two stores I tend to stay away from when restocking are Subeatique (Explore > Centropolis) and All That Glitters (Main Shops > All That Glitters). Items from these two shops, unless they are rare or new, tend to sell for less in the user shops than it costs to buy them. So unless you are camping out for high rarity or new items these are not good places to restock.

guide to subeta game virtual pet quests maleria Quests – You can do 20-30 quests a day depending on which quest you’re doing, and up to 40 if you have a Gold Account. The best quests for you to do are Wizard Quests, Saggitarius’s Quest, andThe Oracle when she asks for something. When doing a quest keep three additional tabs with the shop search open in each of them. Use your cursor to select the search form in each of them so you don’t have to select the box when you’re doing the quest. This way you’ll be able to click the tab and immediately paste the item in and hit enter, so you’ll take less time. Unless a main shop item is significantly cheaper than a user shop one always buy from the user shops, at least for Wizard and Saggitarius, because it’s faster. If you are buying something from a main shop always buy the main shop item first so if someone gets to it before you do you won’t waste your sP on several useless items.

subeta avatar virtual pet site game example 2 If you are a new member you can do Sarah’s Quests to start out. For Saggitarius’s Quests the amount of money you should spend depends on how many items he is asking for, and their rarities. However, don’t spend more than 300k total. For Quentin’s Quests and Toy Quests I don’t spend more than a few hundred sP as the prizes are bad and there is very litte sP return. For Battle Quests you must defeat a challenger in the Battle Coliseum in exchange for EXP, an item, and a small amount of sP. The EXP can be spent on your pets level, health, defense, etc. Make sure to only battle against the ones you think you can beat, or you will lose sP from having to heal your pets. For Maleria’s Quests, Petes Quests, Cursed Quests, and The Computer Geek quest, I don’t spend more than 6000 sP. For The Library quest I don’t spend more than 4000. Except for Wizard, Saggitarius, and Battle Quests, I mostly do the other quests only for the achievements.

Saggitarius’s Quests, The Oracle Quests, Sarah’s Quests, Drunk Carl’s Quests, the Blue Building, all have special requirements. For Saggitarius the amount of sP you have cannot go below 750000. That means you must have more than 750000 sP to complete his quests, at least 950000. The Oracle is a random quest, so you can only complete these when she asks you for an item. For Sarah you can’t have more than 500000 sP to complete the quests. You must have access to the Omen Islands to do the Drunk Carl quest, meaning you have to have completed the Uncharted Land Map. And for Blue Building you must have access to Blue Building. A list of the requirements can be found on the Blue Building page (Explore > Centropolis > Blue Building). Buying items from the Blue Building and completing Blue Building quests is best reserved for creating a Bumbus or getting achievements. The cost of the items it takes to complete the quest is often more than how much they sell for the in shops, so if you want a Blue Building item it is usually better to buy it from someone else.

guide to subeta game virtual pet wizard quests Wizard Quests – The wizard asks for up to three items in varying rarities. If the total cost of the items is more than 25k it probably isn’t worth doing. The wizard gives out tokens, an amount of sP, and occasionally an item. Tokens sell well in the shops, but don’t go for as much sP as they used to, due to the introduction of weekend quests, where a random quest gives out increased prizes. In the past few months (Nov 19 2011), Subeta has changed the way Wizard Tokens and other currency are handled. Using the Wizard Exchange in Sacred Lands (Subeta > Explore > Sacred Lands) puts all your Wizard Tokens in your Currency Storage vault. Using vending machines or buying from the Token Shop now takes the tokens out of the Currency Storage instead of your inventory, so make sure to store all your tokens.

guide to subeta game virtual pet wizard token quests Wizard Tokens – The main ways of getting Wizard Tokens are through Wizard Quests, The Oracle (a type of random quest), and the user shops. Wizard Tokens can be spent on vending, the Pet Zappers, items in the Blackheart Hollow (Subeta > Explore > Darkside > Blackheart Hollow) and Token Shop (Subeta > Explore > Carnival > Token Shop). Restocks there are rare and are usually announced on the news page. It is good to keep a supply of at least 200 Point Wizard Tokens on hand if you ever plan on buying from either of those places, as the restocks are random and sell out quickly. The Oracle has her own token shop (Subeta > Explore > Sacred Lands > Oracle Token Shop) where you can buy boxes of varying prices, with varying unknown items inside.

guide to subeta game virtual pet vending wizard token Vending – There are many vending machines on Subeta such as the Prize Get Vending Machine. For 2 Wizard Tokens a push you get a random item from a main shop. If you are hoping to vend a newly released item, remember to go to the vending machine associated with that shop, as not all vending machines vend all items. You can find a list of vending machines and the type of items they give here. Don’t rely on others to tell you the best vending machine, as different people find success at different machines. Try a few and find out which one works best for you.

guide to subeta game virtual pet omen island uncharted land map Omen Island – This area of the site is only available by completing the Uncharted Land Map. Omen Island is where the most popular vending machine is, Ocean Depths, and is the place you create Hydrus pets. There are 9 pieces of the map which you can find through random events, or buy from other users. The cheapest Uncharted Land Map Piece is #1, and completing the map can cost several million sP to the double digits. You can view your map in the Games section under Treasure Maps > Omen Island. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth completing the Ocean Depths map unless you have a lot of spare sP. Ocean Depths maybe be touted by many as the best vending machine, but only for newly recently items, and not in general.

Treasure Maps – Treasure map pieces can be found from random events, the Random game, and through other users. As long as you time your purchases of the map pieces right, as they can fluctuate, completing treasure maps can be profitable, and you can at the very least get the money back you spent on it. You can complete as many maps as you like, and get rare items for turning all your pieces in.

guide to subeta game virtual pet Asmodeus Genetech Lab combo breaker Asmodeus Genetech Lab – At the Genetech Lab you can merge two or more items into another item. These items are very expensive and rare, but it is still usually cheaper to buy the items and combine them yourself, rather than purchase the final version from someone else. You can find a list of item combinations here at SubetaHQ.

guide to subeta game virtual pet achievements Achievements – Achievements are a big part of the site. A message box at the top of the page appears when you have gotten a new achievement. There are many different kinds of achievements for doing various things. Adopting your first pet, posting in the forum, playing games, and adding clothes to your wardrobe can all earn you achievements. Some achievements are tiered, meaning there are various levels to the achievement. Some also have prizes, and others unlock forum titles for you to use. You can see what achievements are available, and what ones you have by clicking the “Achievements” link under “Personal”.

subeta game virtual pet morostide halloween event holiday Holidays – Subeta has several holidays, many of which mirror our own. The holidays celebrated on Subeta are: Survival (The Great Pandemic), Atebus Revolution Masquerade, Vesnali, Alegarten, Morostide, Fireside, and Luminaire. Many involve floating items which are found randomly while surfing, achievements, and all come with new and old items being restocked in the Holiday Shop. To find as many floating items as possible, it is good to vend and battle. taying in one place is much better than opening a bunch of tabs, but doing things that go through a lot of pages is better than that. I wouldn’t recommend doing quests just for this, at least not Wizard Quests, because it will slow you down. You can only claim the latest item you’ve found, so if you try to claim one and you’ve loaded another page that has a floating item on it since then, the first one will give you an error message. For the holidays there are often forums set up so you can reach achievements, points, etc, more easily. New colors are often released or revamped for holiday or season, for instance Glacier pets during Luminaire and winter. Always remember to buy items you’ll need for events ahead of time. For instance at Fireside you throw Red Rreign items into the bonfire, and at Luminaire you get achievements for sending wrapped gifts, so stock up on Red Rreign effigies and wrapping paper before the events start and the prices go up. After you’ve been a member for a while you won’t have to buy some of these things, because you’ll have items leftover from last year. Check out the holiday pages of the achievement section for other things to buy. For many holidays it is good to post in the holidays forum where there are many “give x” or “do x” to the person above, to make sure you get all the items and achievements you want.

guide to subeta game virtual pet zombie survival The Great Pandemic Survival (The Great Pandemic) – At Survival, taking place during February, your avatar can be turned into a zombie by refreshing at Shadowglen while wearing a zombie or Skitters mask there. Zombie cardboard masks can be found as floating items around the site, and the Skitters Cardboard mask can be bought from the Cash Shop for 100 CSC or purchased from another user. Infection happens randomly, but is more likely with the Skitters mask. A notice at the top of the page will inform you that you have been bitten. You can watch your zombie infection progress by going to the Healer at Riverside Valley who will show you an image of your infected avatar. There are new zombie infections each year with several stages. Once you are a zombie you can purchase exclusive items from Skitters Zombie Den, located in Shadowglen. Even if you don’t become a zombie, there are other parts of the even you can participate in. You can give other users “kisses” by clicking the link under the username in the forums, with achievements depending on how many kisses you get and give. You also get achievements for collecting candy hearts from users profiles. There are wait times after each kiss and candy ranging between 2-10 minutes.

guide to subeta game virtual pet steampunk Atebus Revolution Masquerade Atebus Revolution Masquerade – The Atebus Revolution Masquerade has a steampunk theme, and takes place in March. During the masquerade you put on a mask and “dance” with the other users. Like kisses, you dance by clicking the dance link under their user information to the side of their forum posts and can earn achievements for it. You have to have an approved mask on to dance, and while there is no official list generally you can only wear masks that are spelled “mask”. If you want to wear a mask that is not allowed, you can layer another mask underneath that one, or hide a mask that works with the item “Vanishing Cream”. For each dance you earn trinkets which you can turn in at the Steamworks Menagerie or the Libertine Lounge. The Lounge has food items and Steamworks has clothing and other wearables along with books, plushies, etc. There are wait times after each dance and candy ranging between 2-10 minutes.

guide to subeta game virtual pet vesnali spring easter event holiday Vesnali – Vesnali is the sites replacement for Easter and can be considered a celebration of spring. Flowers are floating items found randomly around the site and can be given to other users for Vesnali Coins. Vesnali Coins are spent at Esther’s Shop for exclusive wearables, books, and more. You get coins for both giving and receiving flowers, and there are also achievements available.

Alegarten – Alegarten is a short holiday and is basically Oktoberfest. No event takes place, but the holiday shop is stocked with German themed items and beer.

Morostide – This is Subeta’s Halloween. You can egg and TP users, trick-or-treat at their profile (for which you either get a prize or you get “tricked” and your avatar is turned into something), and look for items in the pumpkin patch. There are wait times after each lasting between 2-10 minutes.

Fireside – Fireside is a fall holiday taking place after Morostide. The Veta Lake bonfire is lit, and users can throw in effigies the Red Rreign, which can be found floating around the site. There are achievements for finding the floating items, throwing them in the bonfire, and more.

guide to subeta game virtual pet luminaire christmas Hanukkah Chanukah winter event holiday Luminaire – Luminaire is a winter holiday in which you can wrap and send gifts to other users, put items in other users stockings (located on their profile), participate in an anonymous gift exchange, and throw snowballs at users. You can also visit Melody’s Cottage every day of December for exclusive winter themed items. At the end of the month you your stocking is opened and you see what your friends have given you.

Gift Wrapping – To gift wrap presents for Luminaire go to the the Gift Center at Arctic Frost. Make sure you have some wrapping paper in your inventory (found at Holiday Shop or in the user shops) and follow the steps on the page.

Freyalise Trading Company – The Freyalise Trading Company sells pirate and other nautical items. It most likely opens for about a week in September.

Reading Drive – The Reading Drive is a contest where you donate books in exchange for points. The points can be used to buy themed prizes such as the Key of Secrets background (The Secret Garden), Emily doll (A Little Princess), Orange Glowing Wand (Harry Potter), The One Ring (Lord of the Rings), and more. The new prizes for each ongoing Reading Drive are not revealed until the contest is over. As of the 2011 Reading Drive, books of higher rarity and special books earn more points than a common book does. You can only turn in each book once. A good way to get books is to vend at the Blue Sky crane, located at Veta Lake, and sell any duplicate books and buy more books with the sP. You can find Reading Drive page in the Games section under the link “Reading Contest”.

guide to subeta game virtual pet event holiday floating item code Floating Items – As previously mentioned, many events and holidays involve floating items that appear randomly around the site. To make it easier to find these items, add the following code to your User Options – Custom CSS (Personal > Site Preferences > CustomCSS). This will make the items appear at the top of the page with a red border around them.

<style type=text/css>#content>span[style]
{
border:5px solid red;
position:absolute !important;
left:400px !important;
top:5px !important;}</style>

guide to subeta game virtual pet cash shop credits Cash Shop – The Cash Shop on Subeta is a place you can purchase exclusive, high quality items. There are wearables, account upgrades, limited edition monthly items, battle items, and more, and as thanks for purchasing an item from the Cash Shop you get a collectible bobblehead. The currency of the Cash Shop is called “Cash Shop Credits”, CSC for short, which can be purchased with real money through PayPal, PayByCash, or an Ultimate Game Card, available at many retailers and drugstores across the United States. $5 earns you 500 CSC, $10 earns you 1000 CSC, and so forth. Unlike Neopets you can also purchase Cash Shop Credits from other users in the user shops. For example, a 500 Credit Gift Card usually costs around 8 million sP and, as the name suggests, can be redeemed in the Cash Shop for 500 CSC. In addition to purchasing CSC for real and in-game money, you can also earn CSC by completing various offers, doing surveys, and watching videos. The Cash Shop is split into different sections for purchasing different things, like various items, gold accounts, themed costume trunks, high end clothes sets, and the Cash Shop Hustler. The Hustler randomly sells small amounts of items for CSC. These sell out very quickly, so if you want to try to catch some items join this group. All of this can be found under the “Cash Shop” link. There are usually Cash Shop sales a couple times a year, the biggest being the Black Friday sale (the Friday after America’s Thanksgiving).

guide to subeta game virtual pet cash shop gold account Gold Accounts – Gold Accounts can be purchased from the Cash Shop for varying amounts of CSC depending on how long the gold account lasts, or can be purchased from another user for around 8 million sP. Gold accounts come with a number of perks like increased pet slots, extra wardrobe layers, and more quests. Other gold account benefits are listed on the Gold Account page linked in the Cash Shop tab.

guide to subeta game virtual pet collections plushie Collections – There are many different types of collectibles on the site like plushies, trading cards, bobbleheads, beanbags, and more. There are achievements and prizes available for adding things to and completing your collections. Links to your collections can be found on your profile page, and in the “Games” section. You can access your bobblehead collection under the “Cash Shop” link.

Stickers – Unlike the other collections you cannot add stickers to your collection, only give them to other people. You can add a sticker to someone’s album by clicking the “Add to Friends Sticker Collection” link on the items page.

Bobbleheads – Bobbleheads can be obtained by purchasing an item from the Cash Shop, or buying one from another user. Upon completing your bobblehead collection you receive a rare, exclusive prize.

subeta game virtual pet game profile Profile – You can edit your profile by clicking on the “Edit Profile” link under the “Personal” tab. There are premade profile layouts available on the Subeta fansite SubetaHQ (Graphics > User Profiles). You can make your own or you can purchase one from an artist on the site for sP. To use your own profile design or one you bought, add your gender, or add your name use this profile link. When editing your profile through the edit link you can add or remove content and place blank sections where you can write what you want.

Cults – Cults (available under the Interact tab) are groups for users of similar interests. Some Cults, such as CHIC, an exclusive Subeta fashion group for those with stylish avatars, require an application. Daily Item is the most popular cult.

A Note
I’ve tried to include everything I could think of. A couple things were left out like Epicon, because I was not a member of Subeta when these events happened.

Putting this here because I don’t want to waste space in my guide with my comments… Well, I think I got a lot of information in, but I’m not sure how concise it is. :hick: But I worked really hard on this, and spent a long time trying to get everything right. I don’t think I want to write another guide for a while.:blank:

Megan on May 6, 2011

Added the code for floating items, and added Sarah’s Quests.

Liv on June 6, 2011

Hey I’m new and I find your guide really helpful! There’s a reading drive going on right now though and I have no idea what that’s all about, could you explain it? Thanks!

Megan on June 12, 2011

Hi, Liv, I’m glad my guide could be of use to you.

More quest info has been added as well as a section on the Reading Drive.

Megan on June 19, 2011

Updated the quest section again.

Jenny on June 29, 2011

I used to love playing neopets back when I was in middle school, but you’re right, there are so many people playing that it’s easy to get lost in there :( I’m gonna check out subeta just for CURIOSITY’S sake, but if I ever decide to play, I’ll be sure to check out this guide you’ve written. It looks very detailed and thorough :)

Megan on July 3, 2011

I’ve gotten sick of TNT and feeling like a nobody on NP, I quit just before the Altador Cup started. I’ve been a member of Neopets for about 7 years, and I’ve never had more than 600,000 NP in the bank, and even that is a rare high for me. Today on Subeta I’d already made almost 3 million before 3 AM. Subeta is wonderful. *huggles Subeta*

Megan on July 7, 2011

Added a link to Subeta’s new walk through tutorial.

Gabs on September 21, 2011

Thanks for the site! I really appreciate the CSS coding regarding the floating events. Incredibly useful!

Megan on September 21, 2011

Yes, it is! I missed so many floating items before I found that code. It makes things so much easier.

Megan on September 26, 2011

Updated the guide with a reminder about holidays and events. Always stock up on event items like Red Rreign effigies, wrapping paper, snowballs, etc, ahead of time as the prices of these items go down later in the year, and go up during the actual events.

Megan on October 1, 2011

I’ve noticed people reaching here by searching “subeta treasure map guide” and “how to gift wrap”, so I’ll add more info on those things as soon as I get internet. If there’s anything you want added or expanded on in this guide just comment here and I’ll do the best I can to answer your questions.

This will be added to the guide as soon as I can: When there are floating items around the site (like anniversary bags/buckets) a quicker way to find them is to vend and battle. Staying in one place is much better than opening a bunch of tabs, but doing things that go through a lot of pages is better than that. I wouldn’t recommend doing quests just for this, at least not Wizard Quests, because it will slow you down.

Megan on October 26, 2011

Reminder: It’s event season on Subeta from now until spring. We have Morostide (current), Fireside, Luminaire, Survival, Atebus Revolution Masquerade, and Vesnali. Have red rreign items ready to throw into the bonfire for Fireside. If you want to buy items for a Christmas/winter avatar do it before Luminaire starts or is close to starting. Have working mask ready for the Masquerade. Event specific items (like red rreigns, snowballs, wrapping paper) always go up in price during the actual event as people rush to buy them so plan ahead. Then once you start repeating events you’ll have items left over from last year, so you’ll buy less.

All this is stated in the actual guide, but as we are in the middle of Morostide, and Fireside starts next month (I have 200 red rreigns ready) I thought I should post a reminder.

Megan on November 19, 2011

It’s Fireside on Subeta now, so start surfing the site to collect red rreign items and toss them in the fire! Also, the guide has been updated with a treasure map section, information on gift wrapping, and some other small updates.

“subeta which gems do you need to for the quest to get a galactic pet” and “subeta coda caves guide”. Coda Caves is already included in the guide, but I have added that there are no specific gems needed for the quest, it will tell you which gems you need to bring to have your pet blessed. It is not a set item.

A “Supercritical Core” can be used to create a Nuclear Potion and is a GeneTech combo item (which of course can also be bought from other users). It is made from three componets, all GeneTech items themselves: Essence of Plutonium (Chemicals + Viper Fang + Cauldron), Vibrating Nucleus Gel (Dark Light Potion + 50HP Healing Potion), and Universal Antidote (Empty Vial + Common Rue + Naga Fang). If you are interested in getting the Supercritical core or one of the items that makes it, research to see whether it would be cheaper to make them or buy them.

“can bad things happen to your active pet subeta” – Generally no. Unlike Neopets your active pet won’t be zapped into something else by a random event. The only bad things that can happen are usually health related, like if your battling, and if you anger the red rreign, but that is easily and cheaply corrected at the Healer or through a potion. Your pet can’t die so it doesn’t matter if it has 0 health unless you want to battle.

“cat halloween skin subeta” – Black Cat Makeup Kit from Morostide Makeup Case, Black Cat Romper (a token shop item), Black Cat-Shaped Goofy Band (a Trick-or-Treat item), various colored Luxurious Cat Tail, Wildcat Ears, manes, and tails from the Feral Accessory Trunk, various Cat Contact Lens, Cat Charmed Witch Hat, Green Cat Treat Bag, various colored Cat Hats, various Sleek Cat Ears and tails, Tiger Makeup Kit, White Tiger Makeup Kit, Golden Tiger Makeup Kit, various Tiger Talismans, various Tiger and Tiger bikini tops and bottoms, Jumbo Tiger Striped Back Ribbon, Sleek Tiger Ears and Tails, Tiger Bones, Tiger Novelty Pouch, and Tigerstripe Sunglasses. Phew~ There’s probably more, but that’s all I could find for now.

“gift giving is a part of what holiday(s) on subeta?” – You can of course give gifts anytime on Subeta, but Luminaire (Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever) is the main gift giving holiday. During other Subeta holidays and events you “give” things to users like flowers or trinkets, but those aren’t actual items but currency to buy things in the special event stores.

“mystery box subeta guide” – There isn’t much to this, go to Sacred Lands > Mystery Box and buy a box. The boxes cost different amounts of sP and you never know what you’re going to get, it’s a gamble.

“subeta how to cure bloatedness” – Wait until your pets hunger goes down, or if they are in the resort wait until they come out. There is a expensive battle item, Malerias Clawed Glove (available at Millionaire Center for 20 million sP), which can make one your pets that is not in battle be hungry.

“subeta add treasure space” – You can get extra treasure chest spaces are given through random events or through the cash shop item Multi-Compartment Keepsake Box which gives you up to 10 more spaces for 250 CSC.

“how do you post the clothes you are wearing in your profile on subeta” – Personal > Edit Profile > Click your Human Avatar’s edit button > Show Clothes?: select Yes.

This isn’t a Subeta question, but “when is neopets the busiest?” – Neopets is usually busiest during the day in American time (EST, central, etc), and has less people all in the middle of the night/very early morning USA time.

If there are any questions you have about Subeta that my guide doesn’t answer feel free to comment here and I will do my best to help you. If you don’t want to post a comment you can use the Newbies Guide to Subeta – Ask a Question page to submit anonymously.

What red reign items make him angry?

Megan on November 20, 2011

Wreathed items, for instance the Gray Wreathed Red Rreign Hug Buddy, make the Red Rreign angry. These are the ones he gives you.

lynn on November 20, 2011

the next holiday do you get to keep where you are in achievement or do you start over again at 0. And when you make red reign angry does he only attack the active pet?

lynn on November 20, 2011

and how much % do you get off for the black friday sale

Megan on November 20, 2011

The achievements are over time not just for the event. If you find 100 floating Red Rreign items one year, you start at 101 the next.

When you make the Red Rreign angry he either does nothing, attacks any of yours pets, or burns one of your items, if you have any in your inventory. It’s a good idea to keep any items that aren’t for Red Rreign elsewhere while burning Wreathed Rreigns.

In the past the Black Friday sale had items at half off their normal price, and retired items were temporarily brought back. Keith has repeatedly threatened not to do this because he doesn’t like people saving all their CSC for the sale.

Searches: “best battle items in subeta” – you might find these two threads useful Recommended Weapons Guide, Weapons; beginner, middle, and top tier sets explained

“list of subeta achievements” – You can find a list of all Subeta achievements on the site itself, Personal > Achievements. They are sorted by type with categories for items, holidays, games, etc.

Megan on November 28, 2011

“subeta can you only wear a certain number of clothes” – No, but you are limited to how much you can wear on each layer. For instance there is a face layer, chest layer, feet layer, etc, and you are allowed two items per layer. So with a normal account you could put one lipstick and eyeshadow on your avatar, but nothing else for the face layer. That number increases to three for gold accounts, and you can add more layers with the “Ooh La Layers” Cash Shop item. Ooh La Layers adds one layer of your choice for 31 days.

Megan on December 1, 2011

As the updated post says, it is now time for Luminaire on Subeta! Luminaire is Subeta’s Christmas/Hanukkah/winter holiday. Remember to visit Melody’s Cottage every day of the month for new free items, wrap gifts, throw snowballs, and send presents through Mysterious Melody (it’s like Secret Santa). All have achievements for doing so! If you don’t like the idea of getting random items from someone through Mysterious Melody, try the Gift Exchange which attempts to match your outgoing gift with another of similar value.

And if you haven’t already gotten the achievement, add a gift to someone’s stocking, but that feature is down at the moment because the staff are working on it right now.

Searches:

“steampunk virtual pet site” – Subeta’s steampunk themed holiday/event is coming up in the next few weeks, the Atebus Revolution Masquerade. Lot’s of steampunk wearables are are available at this time. For a site that revolves around steampunk all the time, though an adoptable site not virtual pet, try World of Umbria.

“2012 New Year Goodie Bag available time” – I don’t know exactly how long the goodie bags will be floating around the site, but probably 1-2 weeks.

Megan on January 16, 2012

“best way to make money fast in subeta” – Besides quests (which I usually earn 500,000 sP from when I actually do them), Subeta recently released a new game called Matlal’s Jewels which you can easily make at least 200,000 sP per day from.

Megan on January 27, 2012

“gold potion price” – I got two different searches for this, don’t know why this potion is suddenly so popular. For price checks you can use subetahq.com for an estimate (because prices change so fast the one listed on SubetaHQ isn’t always accurate), or just search the shops right on Subeta (http://subeta.net/ushop.php?act=dosearch&itemname=Gold+Potion&type=shops). Right now Gold Potions are selling for 99,990 sP in the User Shops.

“what are the best games to play on subeta” – If you are looking for quick and easy sP Matlal’s Jewels is the best game to play. I also play Random, Stargazer, and Safe Crack every day, and try to answer the trivia every week.

“is subeta any good” – Opinions will vary but I think it is. It really depends on what you are into. If you are into virtual pet sites or avatar dress up sites you will probably like Subeta. There is a lot to do, so its easy to find something that interests you. Or if you played Neopets in the past and are ready to move on to a more mature site Subeta might be a good fit for you. The only way to find out if Subeta is any good is to try it. It’s free so why don’t you check it out? xD

“schneizel dvd commentary” – This isn’t Subeta related, it’s just a really great search. I’ve never heard of a Schneizel DVD commentary before, but there should be one. Schneizel deserves it. That search lead me to here http://code-geass.livejournal.com/725400.html (that thread… it is beautiful), and OMG Schneizel did an episode preview for 19 in the DVD Magazine?! >< I need to learn Japanese so I can get all the Code Geass things! I can’t believe there’s something Schneizel I’m missing out on! :tears:

Updated my intro with the The Great Pandemic, I kept forgetting to add it.

Searches, skipping everything that’s already covered in the guide

“how to add links to subeta posts” – Google or http://google.com. You can see the full list of codes here.

“best basic battle items subeta” – Useful battle threads, Set Advice board

Not Subeta:
“Sites where you can make your own adoptables” – Squiby.net and Myadopts.com are the first to come to mind.

Megan on February 3, 2012

Updated the part about elixirs, since Subeta has raised their prices and removed them from the vending machines.

Subeta went down for maintenance at 1 AM on Feb 3, and just came back up at around 11 PM. There’s a notice on the site that there may be some disruptions for the next day as they get everything situated, so if you can’t get on (or couldn’t) that’s probably why.

“best way to make money on subeta” – Can’t remember if I answered this before, and don’t feel like looking it up so… Restocking, vending, quests (particularly Saggitarius, but doing more can get you at least half a mil a day), and Matlal’s Jewels.

Megan on February 5, 2012

Updated the intro again about the two holidays/events coming up to make it more clear. I know I put the Masquerade first, because I kept forgetting to add the Pandemic too, but Survival starts first. Survival starts on or around Valentines Day, and the Atebus Rev Masquerade after that, probably in March. And then after that… Vesnali.

“will there be a reading drive subeta 2012″ – Probably not, since there was year

I’m getting a lot of Pandemic related searches for both this and last years. I don’t know any more about this years zombie fest other than what I’ve already said. As for the previous years, you can see all the virus stages and fake cures here at SubetaLodge. I was a Brain Rot zombie, but I think Bindi Bite is the best of the 2011 strains. ^^

evon on February 5, 2012

it’s still not clear

Megan on February 5, 2012

I’ve moved some things around in the beginning of the intro to make things less confusing. Now The Great Pandemic comes first since it starts first. I guess I should rewritten it as soon as I added Survival.

Megan on February 6, 2012

If you weren’t on Subeta for last years Pandemic be warned that the items in Skitters Den are expensive, so if you are planning on becoming a zombie and buying from him make sure have at least a million (2,500,000 if you want the last Zombie Den Regular achievement).

Megan on February 11, 2012

Sorry people, I don’t know the answer to this weeks trivia question, and even if I did I wouldn’t risk my account by posting it here.

Megan on February 14, 2012

Sorry my update was late, I wasn’t online yesterday. The Great Pandemic has started. If you haven’t already put on one of the many cardboard masks floating around the site (or Skitters mask, which works faster) and head to Shadowglen. Keep refreshing until you get bitten.

This is what the message looks like when you get infected: https://twitter.com/#!/ayashe/media/slideshow?url=pic.twitter.com%2FT72zjw14

If you aren’t sure if you’ve been infected or not, or if you just want to check the progress of your virus see the Healer, she’ll tell you and show your infected avatar.

Megan on February 19, 2012

If you mean Egg Cave, I am aware.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

Wow I guess I should be grateful for my school. I never seen any fights but there’s some bullying. I’ve been bothered because of my nose before. I got hit in the face with a bat when I was little and it’s not perfect. Sometimes people make fun of it. People can be mean and bad but I try to stay positive. There are a lot of bad people in the world but there are a lot of good people too. The bad ones just get more attention. I’m a ten but I know everythings not perfect and I try not to get upset when people don’t like the things I do. But you do say people who don’t like anime and manga aren’t welcome.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

I meant teen.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

I just realized I’m taking over your comments. I’m not using my real name and email but If I put my email can other people see it? Or can I email you? On topic So Subeta is like Neopets?

Castiel on February 19, 2012

That was a stupid question. I can see now there’s no emails listed.

Megan on February 19, 2012

I said haters. There are people who like to flame anime and manga fans about how much they hate it and its fans, and have gotten a hate essay posted here in the past, so I put up that notice last time I made a new layout. Free speech is not the law of the land here, and there are some things I won’t tolerate. Flames are deleted.

Email addresses are private and can only be viewed by me. If you want to continue this through email it’s gwne at niamhme dot net.

They are similar, they’re both virtual pet sites. Subeta is smaller, newer, and is geared towards a slightly older set than good old Neo.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

I’ve never seen any anime or manga before so I don’t know what it’s like. I didn’t know there were people who did things like that.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

I’m a member of Neopets but couldn’t get into it. I only got there when I want to play flash games because there aren’t many good flash game sites. I guess I’ll subeta it a try.

Megan on February 19, 2012

Just like there are people who get angry because you don’t like something they do, there are people that get angry you like something they don’t.

If you have any Subeta related questions feel free to ask me. There’s also a tutorial for new members so make sure you check that out.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

Thanks. Can I still become a zombie on Subeta?

Megan on February 19, 2012

I would assume so. Just put on a cardboard mask then head to Shadowglen and refresh. It can take a while before getting bitten. See my last comment before you posted for a screencap of what the message looks like when you are infected.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

How do you put a mask on? Does it matter which one?

Megan on February 19, 2012

Inventory > Click mask > Move to Wardrobe. Then Personal > Wardrobe > Clothes. Select on the item you want to wear, and then click Wear Outfit.

It doesn’t matter which mask it is as long as it’s one of the cardboard masks floating around the site or Skitters Mask. Skitters Cardboard Mask can be found in the Cash Shop for 100 CSC.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

How do you kiss? I don’t see that option anywhere.

Megan on February 19, 2012

Kissing hasn’t started this year, if it will at all. Normally you can find the link on the left side of a users post in the forum, underneath their name, avatar, etc.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

Ok thank you again.

Castiel on February 19, 2012

Could you remove my egg Cave comments or make them private?

Megan on February 19, 2012

I’ve unapproved all your comments mentioning Egg Cave. I won’t be on again until sometime tomorrow afternoon, so if you have anything else you need don’t expect a reply until then.
