If you have a question that this guide does not answer please leave a comment, or submit your question here and I’ll do my best to help you.

Because of the popularity of this post and the constant updates to it I’ve pinned this to the front page. Scroll down for newer posts.

Vesnali is over. No more holidays for a while.

Subeta is one of the best virtual pet sites. It’s a smaller community, and that’s one of its charms. Unlike Neopets, you aren’t fighting tens of thousands of people for a single item. On a big site like Neopets it’s easy to become lost in the crowd. On Subeta it is easy to make money and integrate yourself into the site quickly. But, like any site, new users might have some trouble when they don’t know their way around. There are topics and FAQs to help new members, but it can be difficult sorting through so much information. Since so many people end up joining and never doing anything, and I have seen many searches for Subeta guides in my websites referral history, I decided to write the kind of guide I would like to have seen when I was a starting out there. This guide aims to be clear and concise, with all the information you could possibly need in one place. If you are looking for something in particular try pressing CTRL + F and searching for a keyword. If you have a question and you can find the answer here post a comment and I’ll help you as best I can. Not a member of Subeta yet, and not sure if you want to join? Check out all the awesome pets at the Neocolours Subeta page and all the well-dressed avatars at Style File.

guide to virtual pet site game subeta join subeta the virtual pet site game
subeta game virtual pet site avatar example Joining – The first thing you’re presented with when you go to Subeta is its beautiful human avatar and pet art. Clicking the orange “Join for Free” button takes you to the registration page where you choose your username for the site, as well as the look of your human avatar. Human avatars are your virtual representative on Subeta that you can dress up as you please. You can choose from many starter hair styles and colors, and several outfits. Both your username and clothes can be changed later, however it can cost upwards of 30 million sP to change your name, so try to choose something you’ll want to stick with.

Pet Creation – Once you are registered you can create your virtual pet by going to the Adopt a Pet page (Personal > Pets > Adopt a Pet) There are 58 to choose from, 6 being limited. The limited pets are Hipottu, Antlephore, Telenine, Sheeta, Cybill, and Kerubi. Limited pets are released randomly, but can also be created through elixirs for a minimal cost, some as low as 900 sP and can also be created through elixirs. The price and rarity of elixirs has been increased (see Cadogre and Endeavor under “Other Pets”) and cost million+. The Subeta pets basic design is nothing special, but no one gets a virtual pet intending to leave it as is. The various colors, such as Glade and Glacier, are exceptional. I suggest deciding which colors you want first so you know what pets to create.

If you don’t want to create a new pet, you can also adopt one from the pound, Adopt R Us (Explore > Veta Lake > Adopt R Us). There are usually quite a few basic colored pets (like dawn and field) as well as Experimenta pets. You can create a total of 5 pets with a normal account, and 5 more with a gold. Gold accounts can be purchased from the Cash Shop for $5 (500 CSC), or from the user shops for 9-10 million sP. With a gold account activated you can create 10 addition pets by using the Mystical Montre Plushie, or the Mystical Donadak Plushie, which give one and two pet slots respectively, for a total of 20 pets. For every year after the second year you are a member of the site you get a loyalty box, which can be used create more.

subeta game virtual pet care food feeding Pet Care – Taking care of your pets can be a hassle. They can go from bloated to starving in a matter of hours, and get bored very quickly. Toys are also generally one use items. It’s too expensive and time consuming to feed and buy toys for them constantly, so the easiest thing to do is put them in Veta’s Lakeview Resort. It costs 100 sP a day per pet. Just select the number of days and the lowest package, Basic. The Bronze, Silver, and Gold packages are a waste of sP.

subeta game virtual pet minion Like Neopets, you can play with your Subeta pets, read them books, attach minions (a smaller pet), and train them for battle. You can also attach items to your pets. My Chibi Harvester, Pad, has Chibi Harvester items in his treasure, and other people place items relating to the the character they’ve create for their pet. The amount of items you can add can be increased through random events, or a Cash Shop item called the Multi-Compartment Keepsake Box.

subeta game virtual pet battle Coliseum battling Pet Battle – You can battle challengers in the Battle Coliseum, to train your pets head to Riverside Valley’s Training Center. There you can train in levels, Strength, Defense, Health, and Speed. The higher your level is the more it costs to train, and there’s a limit to how high your strength, defense, health, and speed can get depending on what level you are. Battle items can be bought in the shop Defend and Conquer. Doing Battle Quests can also earn you items for your armory. Some battle items can be worn by placing them in your wardrobe.

subeta game virtual pet color potion Pet Colors – You can change the way your pet looks through potions. A list of pet colors and their corresponding potions can be found on the website Neocolours. Potions cost up to 30 million, the cheapest being around 1.5 million. Some potions are available in the Millionaire Center, Token Shop, and Cash Shop, and others can be created. Generally, when one is in the Millionaire Center or is made, it is cheaper to buy it there at the base price, or buy the items to create the potion, as the user shops usually charge several million more.

Chibi Potion – Buy from the Millionaire Center for 1.5 million.

Darkmatter Potion – Available for purchase in the Millionaire Center for 4 million.

Galactic – This is a special color available on the 6th and 7th of each month. At the Cave’s Quest (Explore > Coda Caves) select a pet to be blessed, then bring the item requested. There are not set gems you need to to complete the Cave’s Quest, it changes every time. They are usually very cheap, due to the amount of gems available, but keep several million on hand just in case. Even if you don’t want a Galactic pet I suggest you go to the caves on those days, as you get achievements for digging up gems.

Glade – Glade is one of the most popular colors on the site. Rather than buying a Glade potion, it is cheaper to purchase an Ornate Floral Pitcher and fill it at Peka Glade (available 8-9 am and 8-9 pm, Subeta time/EST). This turns the pitcher into a Glade potion.

Glacier – It is usually slightly cheaper to buy the items Artificial Prism Chalice and Bucket of Polar Water and combine them at Asmodeus Genetech Lab (Explore – Darkside – Asmodeus Genetech Lab) rather than purchase one already made.

Nuclear Potion – Unlike the above two, it is cheaper to buy the Nuclear Potion than to create it at Genetech, due to the cost of the Supercritical Core.

Hydrus – To create a Hydrus you must complete the Uncharted Land Map and then complete Merana’s quest.

Steamwork – Steamwork pets are one of the most expensive to create. They can be built or you can turn an existing pet into a steamwork one. Because the processes is more comlicated than the others, I won’t list the details here. You can find instructions on making a Steamwork pet here at Subeta (scroll down to the highlighted part).

Angelic Potion – Angelic Potions can be bought in the Cash Shop for 1500 credits, or from the user shops. Because it is a cash shop item, it costs more sP than most others.

Scribble – To obtain a scribble pet you must use the Potion of Purity.

Miracle Potion I and II – Like the Angelic Potion these are Cash Shop items (2000 credits), and can cost a great deal of sP. The Miracle Potion can change your pet into any color of available for it, except Hydrus, and the Miracle Potion II changes your pets species without changing its color.

Common Potion – The common potion will change your pet back to its default color.

Other Pets – There are several other special pets available on the site, Aeanoid, Experiment, Bumbus, Cadogre, and Endeavor. You can obtain Experiment pets through the V2 Zapper, and Aeanoid from an Aeanoid plant. Experiment pets can only be colored Scribble.

Aeanoid – Have a pet already created that you want to change. Purchase an Aeanoid plant in the color you want from Seedlings or a user shop, then plant it in the Gardens at Veta Lake. Set the pet you want to make Aeanoid as your active, and once the pet has grown the plant will attack it and change it to Aeanoid.

Experiment – Experiment pets can be zapped at the V2 Pet Zapper (Explore > Ziara > Pet Zapper Version 2), and costs Wizard Tokens. Of course, it does not always change your pet into an experiment type, and sometimes misses.

Bumbus – Bumbus pets are created in the Blue Building. The access the Blue Building you must meet a set of requirements, which can be found on the Blue Building page.

Cadogre and Endeavor – Cadogre and Endeavor are limited pets from Ziara’s Adoption Agency. Like the other limited pets, they are easily created using their elixirs. Unfortunately, due to a recent (Feb 2) update on Subeta the prices of elixirs have been raised, and they’ve all been removed from the vending machines. That means they’re more rare and cost more. Expect to spend at least few million if you want a Cadogre and Endeavor elixir.

Pet Zappers – For Wizard Tokens you zap your pet to change its color, gender, species, and stats. Most colors can be zapped, and the Version 2 pet zapper can change your pet to Experiment, zapping is random, and doesn’t always work. The first pet zapper is at the Carnival (Explore > Carnival Tent Picture > Pet Zapper), and the second is at Ziara (Explore > Ziara > Pet Zapper Version 2).

Pet Name Changing – You can change the name of your pet by using the Enchanted Hypnosis Wand, a cash shop item that costs 1000 CSC (cash shop credits), and sells in the user shops for around 20 million.

guide to subeta game virtual pet making sp Making sP – Of course all of these potions, clothes, etc, cost sP. Sometimes a lot of sP. So what’s a new user to do? For a new member seeing items cost 20,000,000 sP can seem quite daunting. It can seem like these things will never be within your reach. Fear not, because this site is not Neopets. All of these things are available to you. Within a month and 3 weeks of joining Subeta I earned a little over 101 million sP, dressed my human avatar up very nicely, and used potions on all 11 of my pets. I even have my next 9 planned. How did I do it? Through restocking and quests. These are the two best ways to earn sP on Subeta. There are games, but most aren’t big money makers except for Matlal’s Jewels, which you can probably earn at least 200000 sP a day from, or more if you are better at it than I am. If you want to earn sP your shop and doing daily quests are the way to go. And you don’t have to have super human reflexes to be a good restocker either. Because there’s fewer members, there’s fewer people to fight to get items.

guide to subeta game virtual pet restocking Restocking – You can create your shop by clicking the Your Shops link under Commerce. Choose a name, and add a shop description if you want. Then start looking for items to stock. When I first started I restocked at The Clothing Rack, Accessory Bin, and Magic Box. Now, I usually restock in whatever store I’m buying from at the time, whether it’s one of the above, Icy Goods in Arctic Frost, Beach Shack at Delphi, the Holiday Shop, etc.

guide to subeta game virtual pet wearables clothes Wearables usually sell faster than almost anything on the site, which is good because prices in the user shops decrease very fast. When restocking keep the shop search open to check the current selling price of the item. Unless the item is new or rare, this shouldn’t affect your chances of buying. If it item is selling for less than 10,000 sP, it isn’t worth buying it. If it costs 2000 sP and is selling for less than 20,000 sP, I usually don’t buy it. Items can go from selling 20000 or sP in the user shops down to 1000 in a day.

The best time for restocking is early in the morning EST (Subeta time) when there are less users online, except when the Holiday Shop is open (during holidays obviously). When new items are released this is also the optimal time to be online, because these do sell fast.

guide to subeta game virtual pet restocking Subeatique wearables Bad Restocking Stores – Two stores I tend to stay away from when restocking are Subeatique (Explore > Centropolis) and All That Glitters (Main Shops > All That Glitters). Items from these two shops, unless they are rare or new, tend to sell for less in the user shops than it costs to buy them. So unless you are camping out for high rarity or new items these are not good places to restock.

guide to subeta game virtual pet quests maleria Quests – You can do 20-30 quests a day depending on which quest you’re doing, and up to 40 if you have a Gold Account. The best quests for you to do are Wizard Quests, Saggitarius’s Quest, andThe Oracle when she asks for something. When doing a quest keep three additional tabs with the shop search open in each of them. Use your cursor to select the search form in each of them so you don’t have to select the box when you’re doing the quest. This way you’ll be able to click the tab and immediately paste the item in and hit enter, so you’ll take less time. Unless a main shop item is significantly cheaper than a user shop one always buy from the user shops, at least for Wizard and Saggitarius, because it’s faster. If you are buying something from a main shop always buy the main shop item first so if someone gets to it before you do you won’t waste your sP on several useless items.

subeta avatar virtual pet site game example 2 If you are a new member you can do Sarah’s Quests to start out. For Saggitarius’s Quests the amount of money you should spend depends on how many items he is asking for, and their rarities. However, don’t spend more than 300k total. For Quentin’s Quests and Toy Quests I don’t spend more than a few hundred sP as the prizes are bad and there is very litte sP return. For Battle Quests you must defeat a challenger in the Battle Coliseum in exchange for EXP, an item, and a small amount of sP. The EXP can be spent on your pets level, health, defense, etc. Make sure to only battle against the ones you think you can beat, or you will lose sP from having to heal your pets. For Maleria’s Quests, Petes Quests, Cursed Quests, and The Computer Geek quest, I don’t spend more than 6000 sP. For The Library quest I don’t spend more than 4000. Except for Wizard, Saggitarius, and Battle Quests, I mostly do the other quests only for the achievements.

Saggitarius’s Quests, The Oracle Quests, Sarah’s Quests, Drunk Carl’s Quests, the Blue Building, all have special requirements. For Saggitarius the amount of sP you have cannot go below 750000. That means you must have more than 750000 sP to complete his quests, at least 950000. The Oracle is a random quest, so you can only complete these when she asks you for an item. For Sarah you can’t have more than 500000 sP to complete the quests. You must have access to the Omen Islands to do the Drunk Carl quest, meaning you have to have completed the Uncharted Land Map. And for Blue Building you must have access to Blue Building. A list of the requirements can be found on the Blue Building page (Explore > Centropolis > Blue Building). Buying items from the Blue Building and completing Blue Building quests is best reserved for creating a Bumbus or getting achievements. The cost of the items it takes to complete the quest is often more than how much they sell for the in shops, so if you want a Blue Building item it is usually better to buy it from someone else.

guide to subeta game virtual pet wizard quests Wizard Quests – The wizard asks for up to three items in varying rarities. If the total cost of the items is more than 25k it probably isn’t worth doing. The wizard gives out tokens, an amount of sP, and occasionally an item. Tokens sell well in the shops, but don’t go for as much sP as they used to, due to the introduction of weekend quests, where a random quest gives out increased prizes. In the past few months (Nov 19 2011), Subeta has changed the way Wizard Tokens and other currency are handled. Using the Wizard Exchange in Sacred Lands (Subeta > Explore > Sacred Lands) puts all your Wizard Tokens in your Currency Storage vault. Using vending machines or buying from the Token Shop now takes the tokens out of the Currency Storage instead of your inventory, so make sure to store all your tokens.

guide to subeta game virtual pet wizard token quests Wizard Tokens – The main ways of getting Wizard Tokens are through Wizard Quests, The Oracle (a type of random quest), and the user shops. Wizard Tokens can be spent on vending, the Pet Zappers, items in the Blackheart Hollow (Subeta > Explore > Darkside > Blackheart Hollow) and Token Shop (Subeta > Explore > Carnival > Token Shop). Restocks there are rare and are usually announced on the news page. It is good to keep a supply of at least 200 Point Wizard Tokens on hand if you ever plan on buying from either of those places, as the restocks are random and sell out quickly. The Oracle has her own token shop (Subeta > Explore > Sacred Lands > Oracle Token Shop) where you can buy boxes of varying prices, with varying unknown items inside.

guide to subeta game virtual pet vending wizard token Vending – There are many vending machines on Subeta such as the Prize Get Vending Machine. For 2 Wizard Tokens a push you get a random item from a main shop. If you are hoping to vend a newly released item, remember to go to the vending machine associated with that shop, as not all vending machines vend all items. You can find a list of vending machines and the type of items they give here. Don’t rely on others to tell you the best vending machine, as different people find success at different machines. Try a few and find out which one works best for you.

guide to subeta game virtual pet omen island uncharted land map Omen Island – This area of the site is only available by completing the Uncharted Land Map. Omen Island is where the most popular vending machine is, Ocean Depths, and is the place you create Hydrus pets. There are 9 pieces of the map which you can find through random events, or buy from other users. The cheapest Uncharted Land Map Piece is #1, and completing the map can cost several million sP to the double digits. You can view your map in the Games section under Treasure Maps > Omen Island. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth completing the Ocean Depths map unless you have a lot of spare sP. Ocean Depths maybe be touted by many as the best vending machine, but only for newly recently items, and not in general.

Treasure Maps – Treasure map pieces can be found from random events, the Random game, and through other users. As long as you time your purchases of the map pieces right, as they can fluctuate, completing treasure maps can be profitable, and you can at the very least get the money back you spent on it. You can complete as many maps as you like, and get rare items for turning all your pieces in.

guide to subeta game virtual pet Asmodeus Genetech Lab combo breaker Asmodeus Genetech Lab – At the Genetech Lab you can merge two or more items into another item. These items are very expensive and rare, but it is still usually cheaper to buy the items and combine them yourself, rather than purchase the final version from someone else. You can find a list of item combinations here at SubetaHQ.

guide to subeta game virtual pet achievements Achievements – Achievements are a big part of the site. A message box at the top of the page appears when you have gotten a new achievement. There are many different kinds of achievements for doing various things. Adopting your first pet, posting in the forum, playing games, and adding clothes to your wardrobe can all earn you achievements. Some achievements are tiered, meaning there are various levels to the achievement. Some also have prizes, and others unlock forum titles for you to use. You can see what achievements are available, and what ones you have by clicking the “Achievements” link under “Personal”.

subeta game virtual pet morostide halloween event holiday Holidays – Subeta has several holidays, many of which mirror our own. The holidays celebrated on Subeta are: Survival (The Great Pandemic), Atebus Revolution Masquerade, Vesnali, Alegarten, Morostide, Fireside, and Luminaire. Many involve floating items which are found randomly while surfing, achievements, and all come with new and old items being restocked in the Holiday Shop. To find as many floating items as possible, it is good to vend and battle. taying in one place is much better than opening a bunch of tabs, but doing things that go through a lot of pages is better than that. I wouldn’t recommend doing quests just for this, at least not Wizard Quests, because it will slow you down. You can only claim the latest item you’ve found, so if you try to claim one and you’ve loaded another page that has a floating item on it since then, the first one will give you an error message. For the holidays there are often forums set up so you can reach achievements, points, etc, more easily. New colors are often released or revamped for holiday or season, for instance Glacier pets during Luminaire and winter. Always remember to buy items you’ll need for events ahead of time. For instance at Fireside you throw Red Rreign items into the bonfire, and at Luminaire you get achievements for sending wrapped gifts, so stock up on Red Rreign effigies and wrapping paper before the events start and the prices go up. After you’ve been a member for a while you won’t have to buy some of these things, because you’ll have items leftover from last year. Check out the holiday pages of the achievement section for other things to buy. For many holidays it is good to post in the holidays forum where there are many “give x” or “do x” to the person above, to make sure you get all the items and achievements you want.

guide to subeta game virtual pet zombie survival The Great Pandemic Survival (The Great Pandemic) – At Survival, taking place during February, your avatar can be turned into a zombie by refreshing at Shadowglen while wearing a zombie or Skitters mask there. Zombie cardboard masks can be found as floating items around the site, and the Skitters Cardboard mask can be bought from the Cash Shop for 100 CSC or purchased from another user. Infection happens randomly, but is more likely with the Skitters mask. A notice at the top of the page will inform you that you have been bitten. You can watch your zombie infection progress by going to the Healer at Riverside Valley who will show you an image of your infected avatar. There are new zombie infections each year with several stages. Once you are a zombie you can purchase exclusive items from Skitters Zombie Den, located in Shadowglen. Even if you don’t become a zombie, there are other parts of the even you can participate in. You can give other users “kisses” by clicking the link under the username in the forums, with achievements depending on how many kisses you get and give. You also get achievements for collecting candy hearts from users profiles. There are wait times after each kiss and candy ranging between 2-10 minutes.

guide to subeta game virtual pet steampunk Atebus Revolution Masquerade Atebus Revolution Masquerade – The Atebus Revolution Masquerade has a steampunk theme, and takes place in March. During the masquerade you put on a mask and “dance” with the other users. Like kisses, you dance by clicking the dance link under their user information to the side of their forum posts and can earn achievements for it. You have to have an approved mask on to dance, and while there is no official list generally you can only wear masks that are spelled “mask”. If you want to wear a mask that is not allowed, you can layer another mask underneath that one, or hide a mask that works with the item “Vanishing Cream”. For each dance you earn trinkets which you can turn in at the Steamworks Menagerie or the Libertine Lounge. The Lounge has food items and Steamworks has clothing and other wearables along with books, plushies, etc. There are wait times after each dance and candy ranging between 2-10 minutes.

guide to subeta game virtual pet vesnali spring easter event holiday Vesnali – Vesnali is the sites replacement for Easter and can be considered a celebration of spring. Flowers are floating items found randomly around the site and can be given to other users for Vesnali Coins. Vesnali Coins are spent at Esther’s Shop for exclusive wearables, books, and more. You get coins for both giving and receiving flowers, and there are also achievements available.

Alegarten – Alegarten is a short holiday and is basically Oktoberfest. No event takes place, but the holiday shop is stocked with German themed items and beer.

Morostide – This is Subeta’s Halloween. You can egg and TP users, trick-or-treat at their profile (for which you either get a prize or you get “tricked” and your avatar is turned into something), and look for items in the pumpkin patch. There are wait times after each lasting between 2-10 minutes.

Fireside – Fireside is a fall holiday taking place after Morostide. The Veta Lake bonfire is lit, and users can throw in effigies the Red Rreign, which can be found floating around the site. There are achievements for finding the floating items, throwing them in the bonfire, and more.

guide to subeta game virtual pet luminaire christmas Hanukkah Chanukah winter event holiday Luminaire – Luminaire is a winter holiday in which you can wrap and send gifts to other users, put items in other users stockings (located on their profile), participate in an anonymous gift exchange, and throw snowballs at users. You can also visit Melody’s Cottage every day of December for exclusive winter themed items. At the end of the month you your stocking is opened and you see what your friends have given you.

Gift Wrapping – To gift wrap presents for Luminaire go to the the Gift Center at Arctic Frost. Make sure you have some wrapping paper in your inventory (found at Holiday Shop or in the user shops) and follow the steps on the page.

Freyalise Trading Company – The Freyalise Trading Company sells pirate and other nautical items. It most likely opens for about a week in September.

Reading Drive – The Reading Drive is a contest where you donate books in exchange for points. The points can be used to buy themed prizes such as the Key of Secrets background (The Secret Garden), Emily doll (A Little Princess), Orange Glowing Wand (Harry Potter), The One Ring (Lord of the Rings), and more. The new prizes for each ongoing Reading Drive are not revealed until the contest is over. As of the 2011 Reading Drive, books of higher rarity and special books earn more points than a common book does. You can only turn in each book once. A good way to get books is to vend at the Blue Sky crane, located at Veta Lake, and sell any duplicate books and buy more books with the sP. You can find Reading Drive page in the Games section under the link “Reading Contest”.

guide to subeta game virtual pet event holiday floating item code Floating Items – As previously mentioned, many events and holidays involve floating items that appear randomly around the site. To make it easier to find these items, add the following code to your User Options – Custom CSS (Personal > Site Preferences > CustomCSS). This will make the items appear at the top of the page with a red border around them.

<style type=text/css>#content>span[style]
{
border:5px solid red;
position:absolute !important;
left:400px !important;
top:5px !important;}</style>

guide to subeta game virtual pet cash shop credits Cash Shop – The Cash Shop on Subeta is a place you can purchase exclusive, high quality items. There are wearables, account upgrades, limited edition monthly items, battle items, and more, and as thanks for purchasing an item from the Cash Shop you get a collectible bobblehead. The currency of the Cash Shop is called “Cash Shop Credits”, CSC for short, which can be purchased with real money through PayPal, PayByCash, or an Ultimate Game Card, available at many retailers and drugstores across the United States. $5 earns you 500 CSC, $10 earns you 1000 CSC, and so forth. Unlike Neopets you can also purchase Cash Shop Credits from other users in the user shops. For example, a 500 Credit Gift Card usually costs around 8 million sP and, as the name suggests, can be redeemed in the Cash Shop for 500 CSC. In addition to purchasing CSC for real and in-game money, you can also earn CSC by completing various offers, doing surveys, and watching videos. The Cash Shop is split into different sections for purchasing different things, like various items, gold accounts, themed costume trunks, high end clothes sets, and the Cash Shop Hustler. The Hustler randomly sells small amounts of items for CSC. These sell out very quickly, so if you want to try to catch some items join this group. All of this can be found under the “Cash Shop” link. There are usually Cash Shop sales a couple times a year, the biggest being the Black Friday sale (the Friday after America’s Thanksgiving).

guide to subeta game virtual pet cash shop gold account Gold Accounts – Gold Accounts can be purchased from the Cash Shop for varying amounts of CSC depending on how long the gold account lasts, or can be purchased from another user for around 8 million sP. Gold accounts come with a number of perks like increased pet slots, extra wardrobe layers, and more quests. Other gold account benefits are listed on the Gold Account page linked in the Cash Shop tab.

guide to subeta game virtual pet collections plushie Collections – There are many different types of collectibles on the site like plushies, trading cards, bobbleheads, beanbags, and more. There are achievements and prizes available for adding things to and completing your collections. Links to your collections can be found on your profile page, and in the “Games” section. You can access your bobblehead collection under the “Cash Shop” link.

Stickers – Unlike the other collections you cannot add stickers to your collection, only give them to other people. You can add a sticker to someone’s album by clicking the “Add to Friends Sticker Collection” link on the items page.

Bobbleheads – Bobbleheads can be obtained by purchasing an item from the Cash Shop, or buying one from another user. Upon completing your bobblehead collection you receive a rare, exclusive prize.

subeta game virtual pet game profile Profile – You can edit your profile by clicking on the “Edit Profile” link under the “Personal” tab. There are premade profile layouts available on the Subeta fansite SubetaHQ (Graphics > User Profiles). You can make your own or you can purchase one from an artist on the site for sP. To use your own profile design or one you bought, add your gender, or add your name use this profile link. When editing your profile through the edit link you can add or remove content and place blank sections where you can write what you want.

Cults – Cults (available under the Interact tab) are groups for users of similar interests. Some Cults, such as CHIC, an exclusive Subeta fashion group for those with stylish avatars, require an application. Daily Item is the most popular cult.

subeta game virtual pet game facebook twitter linking Facebook and Twitter Linking – You can link your Facebook and Twitter accounts to your Subeta login by going to the “Friend Feed” link under “Interact” and clicking the Facebook and Twitter options links. Doing this will send any achievements or actions you choose to those accounts. That means your achievements will be posted automatically on your wall or in your Twitter feed. You can choose which things to add, and which not to post. If you choose to link your Facebook account you will get 100 Cash Shop Credits as thanks the first time something is sent to your wall. Also, every time something is sent to your wall you have a chance of winning a Raffle Ticket, which can be redeemed for a random Cash Shop item.

subeta game virtual pet forum Forum – The forum is where you can chat with other Subeta members. It is a valuable resource during events which require user interaction. Posting in the forum earns you sP, there are various achievements for posting, and as with Facebook, every time you post something there is a chance of receiving a Raffle Ticket. SubetaHQ – Subeta fansite. All items from the site, including wearables are available for you to preview and search, and there is a “HA Generator” available for you make test avatars. You can also graphics for you to use on you and your pets profiles, and in the forum.

Neocolors – On this section of the Neocolors website you can see all the colors available for the Subeta pets.

SubetaLodge – This site is wonderful for managing your lists, like books/food read/eaten and event lists like the Reading Drive so you know which items to buy.

Did I miss something? Have a question? Leave a comment and I’ll get back to you.
A Note
I’ve tried to include everything I could think of. A couple things were left out like Epicon, because I was not a member of Subeta when these events happened.

Best Adoptables Sites

Programs to use: Snap Links Plus, available as an add-on for Firefox and Google Chrome.

12/15/10 – Soon to be updated with another site, Zantarni, an avatar/role play site with pets. Check it out, and I’ll be updating this post with my own thoughts in a few days!

If you like adoptable/virtual pet sites this is the article for you! Adoptables sites are websites where you can create a creature and raise it through clicks from other people. You often get points for interacting with other peoples pets that you can spent on items or other virtual creatures. You’ve probably come across some of these sites before. There are so many virtual pet sites out there it can be hard to decide which one to join. If you’ve been thinking about joining an adoptables site, but don’t know which one is the best way to spend your time, here is my list of the best and worst adoptables sites. Feel free to sound off in the comments with your own opinions!

The Best

VDex Project – One of the many Pokemon adoptables sites out there, and in my opinion, the best. VDex Project is a very interactive adoptables site, which makes it one of the most fun. Unlike other Pokemon sites you have to actually “venture out” to catch Pokemon and buy Poke Balls to catch them with. You can travel, plant berries, gamble for Pokemon and items, and more. This sites currency is earned through displaying your party. Your party has an image code that you can link in forums and on websites, and every unique view earns money. When you join you are paired with a partner, a Poke human. Your partner will say things about themselves and their surroundings, and send you items if they like you. Once a partners affection is maxed out you can get an item from an NPC which is traded with another NPC for a legendary summoning item. Each partner gives a different legendary. Affection is maxed in different ways, from feeding certain Pokemon, to time spent on site. When you join you must also choose a starter Pokemon. This determines which region you start out in – Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh. Some Pokemon are harder to catch than others, and some can only be found at certain times on certain days. Catching some Pokemon can take dedication. It’s taken me a couple days to catch some. But if you keep at it you can fill up your Pokedex quite easily. In my first 20 days I caught over 200, and now at 1 month, 17 days, have 331. This site has many things to do, and has a high level of interaction. If you’re looking for an adoptables site with a little more gameplay, this is the one for you. There is so much to do here you’ll never get bored.

Magistream – I’ve known about this site for a year now, but only joined last month. Magistream has some of the best pixel creatures around. Most are gorgeous, and even the ones that can’t be called beautiful are just as well made. Creatures are raised through clicks, some taking longer than others. My first creatures hatched all within a few days of getting them. But don’t expect click backs, the majority of users do not return clicks. You can get creatures from the stream on the main page, the Koi pond, breeding, quests, shops, donation, and trading with other members. Some creatures can only be obtained through breeding, questing, and donating. Donation creatures are purchased with crystal shards, and you get one shard per $1 you donate. Creatures can cost $2-5 and are only available for a limited time. After a creature has retired trading is the only way to get one. Shop creatures can be bought with gold, the sites currency. Gold is very easy to earn, and I managed to get up to 20,000 gold within my first week. You earn gold by clicking other peoples creatures, and by posting in the forum. The easiest way to earn gold is through gold mining, that is by clicking large amounts of other peoples creatures. Some members don’t like people gold mining in their keep. The best way to goldmine is through an image free goldmine site like this one. It displays just the links of creatures, not the images, so with a browser add-on like Snap Links it is easy to click thousands of creatures over a short amount of time. Also, the site only lists those who have volunteered their keeps.

GPX Plus – Another Pokemon site. On Global PokedeX Plus you get Pokemon eggs from the lab, the main page of the site, or from the shelter. In the lab you can’t see what Pokemon you are adopting, only the eggs description. You can find out what an egg is by googling the description, or from this LiveJournal. The LJ isn’t up to date, but it’s still a good for the basics. Pokemon are raised through clicks and feeds, and occasionally an evolution item. Items and upgrades can be bought in the shop. Money is earned through interacting with others parties. Items can also be found randomly around the site, and through sending a Pokemon underground. Legendaries can be bought via summoning items, and can occasionally be found in the lab through another members failed summon. Fossils can also be bought, and novelties can occasionally be found in the shelter, or in the safari zone. The site can be boring after a while as there is less to do the longer you are a member. Also, it is difficult to participate in the site if you cannot mass click. Mass clicking is interacting with large amounts of other parties. The current record for the most amount of interactions in one day is over 120,000. As money is earned through interactions, and only in small amounts, without mass clicking it is difficult to get ahead on the site.

Dragon Cave – A smaller, less interactive adoptables site, and a good site to start out on if you’re new to virtual pets. As the title suggest this site deals with dragons. You can pick eggs up from in the cave, or from the abandoned pile. Some eggs are more common, and others, like silver, are rare. Hatching the eggs is done through views, and it can take quite a lot of views to do it. Thanks to sites like Dragonnery, the processes is relatively easy. I’ve never had a dragon die on me before, and as long as you use a hatchery like this, your won’t either. Once hatched dragons can be named, but due to the amount of users, finding a name that isn’t taken can be difficult. The best way to work around this is to give the dragon a last name. I use li or vi Britannia from Code Geass (come up with your own please). New dragons are released about once a month. It is often chaos for the first few days, and it can be hard to get them for a couple weeks. Fighting up to 1000 people for 4 eggs can be a drag. This is particularly troublesome during the holidays. Halloween, Christmas, and Valentines eggs are released every year, and the previous years eggs are usually breedable. This is the sites busiest time. The best way to get holiday eggs is by using the browser add-on Snap Links, or a similar program. Keep refreshing and selecting the eggs on the main page, and eventually you will get one or two. The only other way to get eggs is by breeding. Some dragons can only be obtained through breeding (or in the Vampire dragons case, biting). There is no trading system on the site, and users trade using the abandoned page, which can be hit or miss as there is a very good chance someone else will grab the egg before you.

The Alright

Squiby – Squiby is a more generic adoptables site. They don’t have any adoptables themselves, the sprites are created by the members. The result is a wide range of adoptables in both style and quality. Those artistically inclined can create creatures for other people to adopt, and can set levels, passwords, and only allow a certain number to be adopted (a limited pet). Levels and the like are bought with points, earned through interacting with others creatures. Squiby adoptables are leveled through clicks. Because the users themselves create the adoptables and set the rules for their creatures the quality varies, and it can be very difficult to obtain some creatures. When you adopt a creature you can set its gender and name it, and adopts are allowed to share names. As a sort of game, some artists put passwords on their creatures, or have hidden creatures, where you have to figure out the answer, or find the link. I don’t find this fun at all so I don’t usually bother trying. Also, after a while you may end up amassing a large quantity of adoptables, I have almost 300, and it’s hard to keep track of them all. In the past the site has had many errors and a lot of downtime. I haven’t seen any recently, but it is still something to be aware of.

Valenth – These interesting creatures are leveled through feeds, and have different outcomes depending on what is fed to the creature. You can choose what is fed to adoptable when linking it (see an example on the image link above) if you want it to turn out a certain way. Valenth adoptables can be named, and it doesn’t seem like they have to be unique. This site is better for those who like RPG, as role playing is an essential part of the site. Like Squiby it has also had a lot of errors in the past, and is the main reason I stopped using it. The constant errors can be a hassle, and it seems like it is still a problem.

The Worst

Egg Cave – Do you like spam and being harassed? Then this is the site for you! If you don’t, then it’s best to stay away. The creatures are okay, some better than others, but the overall quality of the site is poor. I don’t know if things have changed in the past half year, but when I was a member it was nothing but spam and click begging. Most sites have strict rules about where you can and cannot ask for clicks, and rules about OT discussions. Egg Cave did (does?) not, and at the time didn’t seem particularly interested in any. Members would use the comments section of news posts to have long off topic discussions (I remember one was about Pokemon DP), and beg for clicks/feeds. They would also use the comment section of members profiles to click beg, and egg beg. Users would be repeatedly harassed to adopt their eggs out to someone. Even if you by some miracle escape the torment from other members, that won’t stop the owner from harassing you. Like many adoptions sites they have a cash shop, where for real money you can purchase limited creatures. Unlike most sites, however, the webmaster posts again and again in the news section to try and “encourage” people to buy. “20 more days to by Blooblah!!” “19 days and 50 minutes!” “Just 17 more days!” This is a spammers heaven. Creatures can be named but most names are already taken as they have to be unique. Eggs rely on clicks, views, and feeds depending on what type it is. The amount required for an egg to hatch varies, and can get quite high. If an egg or hatchling doesn’t get the amount of interactions it needs it will die. It is easy to keep an Egg Cave creature alive buy paying (with the sites currency) to have it fed. This keeps it alive, but doesn’t give it any actual feeds. It can take a while for an egg to die on its own, but can die very easily if taken off the paid feeding. Once the time paid for expires you must immediately sign your creatures up again, as they will all die in a week or less if you don’t. So, unless the rules have changed since then, as a member of this site you will be harassed constantly by others to click or feed their creatures, be constantly barraged with “requests” for your eggs, and if you don’t pay 100% attention to the site all the time, your creatures will all die. Have fun.

Virtuadopt – Yet another Pokemon site. I was member of this one before GPX and VDex. Unlike the other two, you can never tell what Pokemon egg you got, by looks or description. They all have the same generic Pokemon egg pattern. This means you can never actively search for the Pokemon you want, it’s all just luck. Eggs can take quite a long time to hatch, which makes the whole process even more frustrating. It’s very annoying to put in a lot of effort to hatch an unknown Poke only to end up with one you hate. The Pokemon are often ugly or strange looking, as the owner relies on one artists “interpretation” of the Pokemon, and cares little of what the users think. The promo and seasonal Pokemon are often quite cute, but difficult to obtain. You have a better chance of winning the more you click, but clicking on Virtuadopt is a difficult process. You have to click “View Virtuadopts” on someones profile or post in the forum, choose a box (some say don’t click), select all the Pokemon/eggs you want to click with a program like Snap Links, click the interaction link on each page, then scroll down to see if you’ve won. This takes a lot longer than most other adoptables sites. The website itself is also consistently slow for me. There is no need to think of a unique name when adopting an egg here, duplicates are allowed and it can be changed later. Most people name the eggs with a random string of letters. If you want to join a Pokemon adoptables site, I think VDex Project or GPX Plus would be more worth your time.

Avadopts – This is was is an Avatar: The Last Airbender adoptables site. The graphics for the eggs aren’t the best looking, but the majority of the sprites themselves are well made. Unfortunately the site has been having a lot of errors and other problems, including a troll hacking. Stay far away from this site and any other Avatar adoptables site. It is very unstable and you never know whether your adoptables will be there the next time you get on. This had potential to be a good site, if not in the hands of a weak-willed webmaster. On the 20th of September the owner had someone trolling the forum pretending to be Viacom employee. Despite the reassurance of members, and the owners own admittance that it was a troll, it has scared the owner (more his mother) so he decided shut it down, and might possibly create a new, “secret” one. The site does seem to still be there, however I will warn you now: if you come across this Avatar adoptables site stay away. Don’t waste your time on a site that may suddenly disappear one day because the webmaster is scared by a troll. The owner is obviously not mature enough to run a website, and will run at the first time of trouble (even if it’s only imaginary) if that’s what mommy says.

Honorable Mentions

Neopets – This is one of the classic virtual pet sites. I’ve been a member there since I was 14, and though I haven’t always been active, I am still a member to this day. I didn’t include it in my list because this is more of a corporation now. It’s not exactly an adoptables site, it’s a lot more than that, and adopting pets is only one aspect of it. In case you’re one of the few people who don’t know anything about Neopets here it is. On Neopets you create a Neopet. There are many available, some that you can only get certain times a year, and others that cost a great deal of NP, the sites currency. You earn NP from playing games, doing dailies, contests, and selling items. You can paint your pet, dress your Neopet up, train them for the Battledome, and do many other things. You have to be good at something to get ahead in Neopets. Whether you’re good at playing games, have very good reflexes, or just have good luck (and who has that?). Otherwise you’ll fall behind. Just like real life Neopets has a small group of wealthy Neopians, some middle class members, and a lot of dirt poor ones. So it’s good to find something to do on Neopets and stick with it. Without having a goal or hobby it is very easy to get bored or disillusioned with the site. Some people try to get all the avatars, training for the Battledome, get a Draik or a certain PB, customizing, etc. I am a customizer, meaning I like to dress up my pets with clothes, backgrounds, and accessories. With Neopets, just find something on the site that interests you and go with it.

Subeta – Like Neopets, Subeta has adoptable pets but that’s not the main focus. You earn sP (Subeta points) through games and other features. I really like Subeta and it gets addicting very quickly. Along with being able to change the look of your pets, you can also customize your human avatar as well. You see my generic starter avatar to the left, and a more developed one in the sidebar at the top of the page. Things cost a lot more on Subeta, and if you don’t know what you’re doing money can be harder to make. There are only 30 games, the majority of which you can only play every few hours. You don’t get much sP from them, and most are contests and other things you have to pay for. The only way to earn money on the site is through quests and restocking. I earned around 18 million sP in my first week through selling clothes, accessories, and a few potions/elixirs. However, the is one problem with this. Due to the small amount of users it is a battle to sell things. Everyone wants to have the lowest prices so their items sell. Because of this items quickly become no longer profitable. Items end up being sold for less than or equal to what they are priced in the main shops. Some members intentionally drive down the prices just to get a sale, dropping thousands price and destroying the market for both them and everyone else. In a matter of hours, one item dropped from 12000 sP down to 1501 due to the negligence of ignorant sellers. The problem is made worse by the use of autopricing. Autopricing is a feature available to Gold Account members, and it automatically sets the your shop prices to the lowest. Like everything else on the site, food and toys are very expensive. Once you use an item to play with your pet it disappears, and you can’t use it again. Food also does very little for a pets hunger, and doesn’t last very long. A pet can go from bloated to famished in less than a day. Rather than buying food and toys it’s a better to just put them in Lakeview Resort. This will keep your pet bloated and very happy for 100 sP a day per pet. Members tout the site as an older, more mature version of Neopets. The reason for this being it is not as censored, and some members say “it’s more violent”. Just because something is more adult doesn’t mean it’s not immature. While it is older, and lacks chat speak, the maturity level is about the same, especially if you are basing that opinion on the level of violence. Subeta has a long way to go, if this site wants to become more than a Neopets copycat they need to start thinking outside of the box. (more…)

Warning: Dangerously Long Post Ahead

Okay, okay, I said I’d do this so here it is. Lately I’ve mostly been on VDex Project, Magistream, and watching anime. I also, over the course of 6 hours, got caught up with the Bleach manga, and ugh. I’ll talk about that later. I’m with Bel right now trying to get the heart scale I need for the Recommendation Letter quest on VDex. I have him up to about 188/255 affection, and have been with him around 14 and he has yet to send me anything let alone a heart scale. I’m also stalking the Gacha corner for the remaining starters I need, as well as trying to get Thief TM from it, which also gives out heart scales. So far nothing. I am one Poke away from completing the starter set I need for the quest then all I’ll need is the heart scale. Then I plan on switching to Yun and maxing him out immediately for Mewtwo, then moving on Allen for Shaymin. It’ll take longer to max him out, but after I do I’ll finally be able to switch to Lyrit, which is the partner I want. Lyrit’s so hot. And a crazy stalker. Edward you have nothing on this bishie! I joined Magistream a few weeks ago, and I really like it. I’m going to be doing an article on all the best adoptables sites soon, so I’ll cover that then. But for now you can see my Magistream creatures to the right in the sidebar. If you want you can give them a click to help them grow.

And yes, anime. Mitsudomoe is ending very soon! Luckily there will be a second season. I love Mitsudomoe! I didn’t expect to because the humor is pretty juvenile, and I don’t really like that sort of thing, but this show is freaking hilarious. Stupid, but hilarious. HOTD, also not my thing (say it Megan: highschoolhighschoolhigh school) I’m not a big fanservice fan (unless it’s fanservice for the girls~), but it’s too much fun. That’s the reason I don’t usually like zombie stories, along with other apocalyptic tales. They’re so depressing. And not in a good way. HOTD (where I am anyway – 7/12) focuses more on the zombie ass kicking aspects of it. You’re too hyped up on adrenaline to care about things like mass hysteria and the world you once knew collapsing around you. You’re watching people beat the crap out of zombies! This makes it seem like a zombie apocalypse would be fun! Kuroshitsuji II ended up being surprisingly awesome. But there I was at episode 10, loving where the series was going, and then my little anime world was shattered. I found out it is only 12 episodes. Just when I was thinking “oh, A-1 Pictures, I’m so sorry for doubting you” it turned into “A-1 Pictures you freaking creeps how can you treat me like this?!!!” MAL hasn’t listed the episode count for the time it’s been playing, so I didn’t know what to expect. I expected more than 12 episodes though! I feel cheated. They made us wait a while as they kept pushing back the date, then screwed with us about the new demon butler and master, and they finally managed to do a good story (the last Kuroshitsuji anime, which also deviated from the manga, was pure crap) and they only do 12 episodes. Though episode 11 and ultimately the final one could be bad, but TastyMelon hasn’t released 11 yet. Shiki also turned out to be surprisingly awesome. I didn’t love the first episode (I rarely do) and the animation put me off a little, but it’s turning out so good. Sick of sparkly, “romantic” vampires and vampire knights? This is the anime for you. This is how you do vampires. And damn that Murasako Masao is one strange looking troll. When I watch the next episode I will torment myself again and watch it at night – just for the kicks. I didn’t learn my lesson with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, or even the last time I watched Shiki. I just started watching it sometime after midnight and the thought occurred to me a couple hours later “maybe I shouldn’t be watching this at night?” and then “I really shouldn’t be watching this at night!” Did I stop? Of course not! As for the other airing shows that I am watching, it’s mostly just to torment myself. Seitokai Yakuindomo, I hate, Amagami SS, I hate slightly less, Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin just gets an “eh” from me, The Redundant Title of Redundancy and Nurarihyon no Mago… I’m dealing with it. And as for Ookami-san, I still haven’t gotten past the first episode. Unfortunately for me all the anime that I’m enjoying is either ending or possibly going on hiatus (we don’t know yet how the Shiki hiatus on one channel will affect our watching). And with the new season seeming pretty blah this is not good news for me.

I do at least have one currently airing television show here to look forward to and that is Destination Truth, with the hot geek Josh Gates. The new season started yesterday. I don’t have cable right now, but Syfy and Hulu both have the previous episodes available on their websites for a short time. The first Destination Truth episode of the season featured Josh and his team went to Pompeii to search for ghosts, and to Africa to search for a beast called the Nandi Bear. Destination Truth is an awesome cryptozoology/paranormal show that airs on Syfy channel. They go to places and investigate things that no one else does (they’ve even been to Chernobyl), and they found some pretty compelling Yeti proof that’s still being investigated by labs today. Plus, Josh is very cute and charismatic. So if you’re into monster hunting and cute geeks definitely check it out. (more…)

I Hate Holidays, and This is Why
Posted by Megan on April 4th, 2010

Well, it’s Easter, and like every holiday I am spending it alone. My mom went over to my aunt Cyndy’s and will bring home some lamb later. I was supposed to go with her, but then Cyndy invited at least a couple more people when it was originally supposed to be just the three of us plus my grandfather. Spending an awkward dinner with family is bad enough, there was no way I was going with strangers there. My mother wasn’t happy about that, since this was her idea. She said if Cyndy would cook dinner for Easter she would clean up Cyndy’s place for it and buy the lamb. We can’t cook here because #1 we don’t have a car, and there’s no store nearby to buy anything at, and #2 and there’s no water to cook or wash dishes. For almost a year we’ve had barely any water. First less started coming out of the bathroom sink until there was nothing, then water stopped coming out of the kitchen sink too, and now there’s only a trickle coming out of the tub. All because the landlord put in a bathroom in the cellar and whoever did it didn’t know what they were doing. My mom bought a small lamb since it was just supposed to be us, and Cyndy ended up also buying ham (we hate ham). So there’s not a whole lot of the lamb, which is the only thing we’d be eating, to go around. She said that as soon as the lamb got out she’d make a plate for me before anyone else got at it. But then after 9 in the morning Cyndy called and said she’d just put the ham in, and she was going to do the lamb next. The ham was going to be done no later than 1, and I don’t know how long lamb cooks, but it can’t be too much long, especially since it was small. My mom asked if she had called anyone else, and she said no, and then my mom asked when she’d told everyone to be there and Cyndy said 4, but it didn’t matter since the ham could be eaten cold. When Cyndy cooks dinner it’s always usually late, so this was a big surprise, and also not a very smart or polite thing to do. Ham can be eaten cold, but lamb can’t. Dinner will be ready at 1 but no one will be there to 4! And even if she called and told them, it’s rude to invite someone and say one time, then call day of and say “we’re eating 4 hours earlier, so get your ass over here now!”

I’ve been online most of the day. There’s usually holiday events on adoptables sites Two I’m a part of that are doing it are Egg Cave and Dragon Cave. They’re both doing egg hunts, and Drag Cave’s continues through tomorrow. On Egg Cave you get an Easter only egg, and on Dragon Cave I’m not sure what you get, if anything. I finished the Egg Cave event with help, but I’m still doing the Dragon Cave one. There’s over 38 eggs to collect, and they only show up about ever 12 minutes. I’ve got 25 so far (5 more than when I started writing). I also managed to get a Mod Mayhem egg “This egg radiates the heat of a fell flame.” I can’t tell you how many others I missed though.

Who knows when my mom will get home tonight. There’s a good chance she’ll be drunk. Not including Monday, and today of course, my mom was out drinking every day last week. Getting home between 9 PM and 2:45 AM. I was already having trouble sleeping, but whenever she stays out late I also have to stay up to let her in if she comes home.

I also hate spring. It starts getting hot, there’s allergies, and then the bugs. Oh the bugs!!! All I’ve been doing recently is beating buggy brains out. There are some good things too. The animals and the plants (even though the latter cause me pain). There’s a beautiful pear tree in a neighbors yard a few doors down, and you can see it from our kitchen window. It’s wonderful when it blooms in spring, even though it doesn’t last long, though it’s still pretty after when it turns green. It finally bloomed a couple days ago, but it’s been so hot and windy that almost all its flowers are gone now. There’s been record high temps here the past couple days. It went from being in the 40-60′s to being in the 80′s. My poor Allie cat is in the window right now. She’s been sneezing like crazy for the past week. She either got my mom’s cold, or it’s her kitty letter. Her kitty litter is horrible. It’s one of those perfumey, dusty kinds that go everywhere and and get in everything. It coats Allie’s fur so when you pet her your hands smell like it. We can’t stand to be around it, and if it’s that hard for us to breathe it it must be 10x worse for her since she actually has to be in it. She seems a little better today, but before then she was mostly just laying around since she didn’t feel well. She came over and sat with me for a while when I was typing this, but she just left.

What an Ordeal

Feb 13: My mom called yesterday after work and said she missed two buses trying to get a Subway sandwich so she was in a bad mood. She said she was going to the bar before coming home and would be home with dinner in about an hour. Fast forward to past 2 in the morning and I’m trying to sleep when I hear someone screaming. Naturally I think it is the ignorant neighbors upstairs who never stop yelling/stomping around and being the noisy people they are. But no, I realize it’s not when one thing yelled is “Megan”. OMG that damn bitch has done it again. I remember last year she came home so drunk she couldn’t get her key in the door and I had to get up again to let her in, and pick up everything she had dumped outside. This time I found her outside on the floor of the porch herself. All she was doing was yelling and saying the same thing over again “I can’t get up.” Now I thought it could be something serious, like she slipped and fell. But no, it’s only that she couldn’t feel her feet (according to her). Oh gee, I wonder what that could be like, not being able to feel parts of your body… Mom, do you know why you can’t feel your feet? IT’S COLD OUT! Just get inside, problem solved. It’s probably well below 30 out, and she just walked up from the bar, and is drunk no less, that’s why she can’t feel her fucking feet! So I get to go outside in my pajamas and struggle with helping a drunk stand up (not an easy task) and eventually get her in the door. All the bitch keeps saying is “I can’t feel my feet” and yelling. Drunks usually come with a few pre-programmed phrases, they’re like those dolls you pull the string and they repeat the same thing over and over again. Then she tripped over her (mostly) alchie bottles on the way to the couch and and was last seen laying there propped up against the couch still saying she couldn’t feel her feet. It would help if she’d taking her effing shoes off and get her feet out of the damp socks. It would certainly help more than just sitting their and whining about it. But no. And I’m certainly not going to make the attempt. Let this be a lesson to her about the evils of drinking (though if she hasn’t learned it by now she never well). I wont be held responsible either if her toes fall off. And if she ever does this again I’m leaving her outside. But for today I get to deal with this, at… 3 in the morning now. And I’ve had to lock that cat in the room with me so drunky Godzilla doesn’t crush her.

Well, I did end up having to help her after she woke up and started screaming again. This time it was about her back and knee. Well after falling down and then laying on the floor between the coffee table and couch, of course it would be hurting. So I had to get her shoes and socks off and try to help her up, but she didn’t want to help herself. She just kept yelling about it hurting (stupid shit like “owie,” “my backy,” and “meowie”) and that she could do it. If she had put as much effort into getting up as she did complaining about it she would have gotten up a lot sooner. It took forever to get her up, then she hobbled to the bathroom which took forever, then took forever getting undressed, then finally went back to the couch and started crying. So I had to put up with that crap, and finally with her slobbering all over me. I hate drunk people! And I hate it when they cling to me and pet me, and then cry on me. Bleh. I can’t stand to be touched but I had to put up with her crushing me for a while (my ribs hurt and I had trouble breathing because of it, then when I finally got away there were indents from my pajamas all over my arms and sides) before I eventually got her to go to sleep. I think that was around 5 AM, and then I got to go to bed again after 6:30. Now her knees are bruised and swollen because of that, and she’s talking about calling off tomorrow.

This morning I heard my cat getting into stuff and when I finally got up to see what the idiot was doing I found her digging under some stuff. It crossed my mind that it could be a mouse, but I thought it was probably a centipede so I dragged her away and started lifting some of it up to see what was underneath. That’s when a little grey mouse went zooming out from under it and around the corner towards the stove. Yes I screamed, several times too. I like mice, mice are cute, but only when they’re in cages, not when they’re running around your home. After I got it together I had to go after that cat who was in pursuit of her new toy. I didn’t know mice could climb, but he scaled the blanket hanging over the door in the kitchen, then dropped back down and finally went back behind the stove again. It looked like he had something either in his mouth or stuck to him. Allie’s been hunting that mouse for almost two years, and this is the first time I’ve seen him come out. He had gone all over the place in here too. I hope he stays behind the stove now.

I’m sick of Valentines day. Egg Cave is has a Valentine egg, which took me 20 (then 100 more when I had to restart Firefox) tries to find, but there’s a 10 egg viewing limit so I have to wait until tomorrow and hopefully it’ll still be there. Then Dragon Cave has two Valentines eggs, which are impossible to get. Half the time the site doesn’t even load, then by the time it does all the eggs are gone. I’ve never been able to get any egg when they were released so I don’t think I’ll be able to get either of these. There should be a one egg limit for both instead of two, so the greedy people can’t stock up on them while the rest of us don’t get anything. I don’t see why some many idiots on that site think this is fun. How is it fun to sit at a computer for hours at a time, all day long trying to get a couple virtual eggs? It’s not fun, it’s frustrating and painful, and very bad for you. Fighting over 1000 people for 3 eggs? What BS. Edit: After almost 400 eggs, I just found out I got two of this years Val eggs when I checked my scroll. Still no ’09s.

It’s going to be so noisy here soon. Like it’s not enough already. But they’re tearing down the McDonalds and Jiffy Lube in the back and building a bigger McD. The McDonalds execs are idiots. The McDonalds there gets busy, but there’s no way we need a new or bigger one. Not only are we losing our McDonalds for 6+ months, we get to listen to construction starting at the end of this month. It is literally right behind us. Then the street the runs along side us, the one McDonalds is on, it’s going to be getting teared up. I don’t know what’s with all the stupid fucks making these decisions, but they’re going to be doing work on it for miles back. So we also get to hear that, and my mom will be having trouble getting to work since it’s a bus line. It’s a very busy street, I don’t know what people are going to do. It’s the main road to downtown. I hope McD doesn’t close down for a few weeks more. They’ve got Penguins of Madagascar toys. I love that show so I’m going to try to get my mom to get herself a Happy Meal so I can get some.

Finally a New Post

I haven’t updated this with a real blog entry in a while. Just haven’t felt like it. Mostly I’ve been watching anime and online at either Global PokédeX Plus or Dragon Cave. I finally got a Ditto on GPX (still looking for Lugia, Winter Vulpix, Mew, and Shaymin) and a vampire dragon on Dragon Cave. Now I’m trying to hatch a sunrise dragon. Edit 1/26: Finally got a Winter Vulpix on my fifth try. Edit 1/27: Mwahaha! Shaymin you are mine!

With anime I’ve mainly been sticking to a few specific ones, but that changed with the new season of anime. Those are Bleach, Prince of Tennis, Wallflower (aka Perfect Girl Evolution, aka Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge), Ouran, Nodame Cantabile, and Itazura na Kiss. Awesome, awesome, awesome, good, okay, …okay. I finally got caught up with Bleach probably about a month ago, and now I just love love love it. I really want to give it an 8 just for how likable and how much fun it is. But everytime I get the urge I have to remind myself of all the times it made me want bash my head against the wall. It’s a 7 anime. Prince of Tennis is still really good, but I’ve been on a break from it because they’re at a tournament and Ryoma’s up and it’s making me nervous. I loved Perfect Girl Evolution (which is known by three names, my preference being The Wallflower because it’s short and easy to remember), and it went on to become my fastest anime, I finished at three days. I was surprised at how quickly I connected with it, and how quickly it went. Ouran was good, and it’s in second place at 7 days, although I technically saw the first episode (several times) almost a year ago. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do that again, I just can’t watch that many episodes at once, especially of the same anime (except near the end for Bleach, I was at about 20 a day). Nodame is okay, and it doesn’t grate on me as much as Itazura does. I was hoping to get caught up on all the Nodame Cantabile series before the last one came out, but that was an unrealistic dream.

For the winter season I added Durarara!!, Ookamikakushi, and Dance in the Vampire Bund. I may start watching Hanamaru Youchien, but I’m not sure yet. I was so disappointed Kuroshitsuji 2 wasn’t going to start airing this month like some idiot on MAL said it would, but hopefully it’ll start in the spring. I like Durarara, enough for me to give it an 8 on the second ep, which is something I never do. I liked it so much it gave me a renewed interest in Baccano, which I am also finding myself liking. Ookamikakushi… well, it’s my own fault because I could tell what it was going to be like, so now I’m just hoping it’ll get better. The characters are so friggin annoying. Vampire Bund had one of the most original first eps I’ve ever seen, but the second wasn’t as good. I also knew what I was getting myself into there, but I’m weak and stupid. I’ve been downloading a ton of anime, so I’m going to be taking a break from the internet for a few days again so I watch it.

After several months I finally got out again, and to The Cheesecake Factory no less. Unfortunately it was Martin Luther King Jr Day, which is an official holiday here, so a ton of people and brats had off. We got there less than a half an hour after they opened and it was already packed. We were seated next to these “rich” women and one of them had thrown her big coat over the divider between the booths, so it was practically in my seat. I wanted to throw mine over so it would hit them on the head. People are so rude and obnoxious, they really have no concern for others. It wasn’t that great there either, and I was the one paying for it, so that’s minus $40. We should have gone to Red Lobster. After we went to the Jo Beth bookstore. Even though I hate them, I hadn’t read anything in a while except The Lovely Bones (which is an awful book, don’t believe the hype). They didn’t have The Shining or any interesting bios, so I got Ender’s Game, which I’ve been meaning to read for a while.

I’ve got two new fl layouts up now, my Maria Sharapova, and Amber’s K-ON one. I love the coding on the second one, it looks really good further down on the page. A preview of what will be the layout of my new anime fl collective domain Zangetsuki.org is here. I prefer my current layout, but I decided to move that one to Among the Stars since its layout only looks good in 1024×764. That’s if I don’t try to fix it with div id’s, but it’s so much hassle since I’m not used to that yet. I’ve been downloading a ton of textures for layouts and icons, so expect to see more, esp of the icons, I still have a lot to upload, and a lot more I want to make. I’ve already made over 100 Schneizel and Clovis bases, and I want to make more for other fandoms. Since he hasn’t been here in a while, and he’s really missed sharing his hotness in my posts, Schneizel once again gets to be my icon.
