Welcome to Lisabee.org, the personal site and blog of a 20 year-old anime and manga fan. Chronicled here are my daily life and thoughts, as well as my obsessions, like Code Geass and BL. In addition to my blog there are numerous pages in the visitor section for you to peruse, including a large anime and manga icon archive. Anime, yaoi, and Code Geass haters and other negativity are not welcome in this space. Trolls will be shown the virtual door. Another Clovis Layout
Posted by Megan on July 28th, 2010

After a little over a year, I have made a new layout for Lisabee.org. The first layout to grace LBE since its conversion to WordPress was “Artistic” a Code Geass layout featuring Clovis la Britannia, and it officially debuted 7/1/09. This is the second, and the second layout to showcase Clovis. It uses fan art from Pivix (credits at the bottom), and is titled “A Light Heart.” Amber mentioned the layout being warmer than the last one, and with that and Euphy’s comment about the warm colors Clovis used in his paintings, the layout was named A Light Heart. Why Clovis? Because he’s my favorite character after Schneizel, and he’s so underrated. You never see him in graphics, so I use images of him. If you don’t understand why he’s so likable find a translation and listen to the Code Geass sound episode Teikoku no Kyoudai. Clovis actually became governor general of Area 11 for Lelouch. I have been testing this layout out for a few days now, and getting opinions on it. I decided it was finally satisfactory and decided to switch them today. This layout was hell to work with. I spent at least 30 hours struggling and tinkering with it. The layout took a little while, with about 28 layers and 3 textures, but the coding was the real issue. There were a lot of problems with it (WordPress doesn’t like me) and even after those problems were worked out I still didn’t think it was good enough to use. Now I do. Please let me know what you think, and anything you think might improve it. If there’s a problem you see I want to know, so I can find a solution that my visitors will like.

76 Wallander Icons
Posted by Megan on July 21st, 2010

76 icons of the British television show Wallander have been added. Wallander is a British mystery/detective series of based on a Swedish series of television shows and books. It stars Kenneth Branagh as detective Kurt Wallander, and airs on BBC One in the UK and PBS in the United States. I don’t love Wallander. I don’t have the same kind of feelings for it as Poirot, which I absolutely adore, but I do it. I don’t know why. Since PBS is airing it’s last “new” Poirot episode on Sunday, I found myself missing Wallander. I found out it’s not playing until October, and since I never focus on the future, I can’t look forward to it. So I made some icons to make myself feel better. Tomorrow I’ll do a real blog post, and a couple days later I’ll add some more icons. Definitely Kuroshitsuji, but other than that I haven’t decided on which other anime/manga series to do.

Epic Troll

It was a mean trick. A mean, mean trick, A-1 Pictures. Kuroshitsuji fans know what I’m talking about. A-1 did the anime Kuroshitsuji, based on the manga of the same name. They completed ruined it by going off on their own instead of following the manga, and sort of had the main character die at the end (sort of because we never saw it). So when they announced they were going to do a second series of it, fans were interested but skeptical. What could they do now, and what would the quality of the story be like after last seasons travesty? The date for the anime kept getting pushed back, and no information came out. And when it finally did, we were wishing it hadn’t. They said the anime would feature a new boy and demon butler. Art and previews came out, and at a special event they had the last butler Sebastian (Ono Daisuke) symbolically hand over his gloves to new butler whatever his name is (Sakurai Takahiro). Throughout all this some fans raged, other fans cried (seriously, girls cried at that event, and not happy tears). They were doing it again, they were ruining our Black Butler. The first episode of the new anime came out at the beginning of July. The new boy, a sadistic blond devil who gouges a maids eye out, and his boring, copycat demon annoyed the crap out of people until halfway through a familiar stranger turned up. Sebastian was there to kick ass (carrying Ciel in a suitcase, lol). We got played. We were trolled. It was all a cruel trick. Oh, has ever an anime treated its fans so horribly? Even Bleach isn’t as mean as this (I personally think Alois Trancy is a representation of A-1 and we are their servants), and they’re known to torment their fans. I don’t doubt that those two will probably be main characters, new thorns in Ciel and Seba-chans sides, but thank goodness the two real main charas are there, and will probably kick the imposters asses. Unfortunately, their joke was spoiled for me, due to Kuroshitsuji fans not being able to keep their mouths shut about it. I would have liked to have found out on my own, and been surprised, but I knew ahead of time that Sebastian was going to show up. I waited until the second episode was out to write this, so I’d know that last weeks preview with Sebastian and Ciel wasn’t another trick. Even though the original characters were there the second episode was rocky. Some parts were funny, like when Sebastian opened the trunk and a pig was in there, but overall the story as lacking. I also think they’ve altered the designs of the characters a little bit, or it was just bad animation. Still there were a few good shots of Sebastian that I’d like to make into icons, especially in the episode 3 preview (which looks like Grell will be returning in, if the preview can be trusted). Go Team Shenkuu!

No icon of my own this time since I come bearing many gifts in the form of 100×100 anime (+ Amy Lee) avatars. They are Bleach (Byakuya, Ukitake, Neliel/Nel Tu, Yoruichi), Code Geass (Schneizel, Kanon, Cecile, Tianzi, Anya, Jeremiah, Lelouch, Kaguya, Darlton), Junjou Romantica (Usami Akihiko aka Usagi), 238 in total. More will be added soon including Bleach, Code Geass, Junjou, Okane ga Nai, Durarara, Kuroshitsuji, and other things on my anime list. Here is a preview, the rest are in the visitors section under Avatars/LJ Icons, in their respective categories and listed newest to oldest.

It’s the Altador Cup at Neopets right now. I’ve paticipated at least three times before, and this is my second year with Shenkuu. I think I was originally with Darigan, though it could have been Faerieland, when I joined and it started it was 04-06 so I don’t really remember. When I saw Shenkuu last year I knew it was the team for me. I love all things Shenkuu, it’s my favorite place (there needs to be more Neovia stuff too). I’m doing my best to seriously participate this time. If Shenkuu loses I don’t want it to be because of me. Other team supporters on The Daily Neopets have some pretty strict goals, but I’m trying to keep up with them. My goals are 5 for Slushie Slinger, 10 for Make Some Noise, and 600 for Shootout Showdown. I don’t have any for Yooyuball. I despise Yooyuball. In the past I’ve never been able to score any goals. Now I can usually get at least one and keep the ball away from the other team long enough to win. The most goals I ever got was 6, I don’t expect that to happen again. I’ve been pretty good with my goals, although it’s only my third day playing so it doesn’t mean anything. I did 670 the first day for SOSD and 923 the second. I’m now up to Level 4. I’ve never gotten past beginner before, so I’m really excited, though it’s going to be very difficult from here on out. I don’t think I’ll make it to All-Star (I personally don’t believe it’s humanly possible, so if you did it you’re probably a secret government experiment) but I’ll do my best and get as far as I can. 23 Code Geass Icons
Posted by Megan on December 24th, 2009

Another icon post, this time with 23 CC avatars from the anime Code Geass. The last two are actually the first two I did, when I was experimenting with various things in Paint Shop Pro, and the rest were based on those, but edited with the cropping I preferred. I’ve put most behind a cut so they don’t overwhelm the page, like the Cardcaptor ones did. I also added 3 cat icons in the other category.

19 Cardcaptor Sakura Icons
Posted by Megan on December 13th, 2009

I hadn’t done any graphics in a while, and was really itching to, so I made some icons. I haven’t downloaded my Code Geass scans yet, so I looked up some Cardcaptor Sakura images on AnimePaper.net. Still stucking using PSP7. I tried to download my copy of 8, so I could use scripts, but Norton found a virus in it and deleted one of the files. Can’t find a working download for Photoshop CS either.

New Layout
Posted by Megan on July 1st, 2009

If you haven’t noticed there’s a new layout. If you haven’t been here before, then you probably wouldn’t. But there is. It features one of my favorite characters in Code Geass, Clovis la Britannia, a very underrated CG character. I’m calling it either An Unfinished Life or Mirage, which is what I’d call his fanlisting if I ever wrench it out of the owner in the future. I’m pretty happy with the way this layout turned out, I think it might be my best work yet. But now I’m noticing a few things that I wish I had changed, that for some reason I never noticed before. I’m also happy with the way the coding turned out. The coding of the layout itself, not WordPress which I’m going to be having nightmares about for weeks. I don’t know how anyone could work with WP, it drove me crazy, and it still isn’t working right. WordPress truly is hell. I also made a layout with Schneizel and Lelouch, but the theme switcher plugin isn’t compatable with the latest version of WordPress so I can’t show it to you. It’s not as good as this one, but I still like it. I tried to do one with Azula from Avatar too, but Paint Shop Pro isn’t cooperating with me anymore. Apparently I’ve used up all my creativity there for a while.

There’s still a few things I need to update around here, some is just general maintenance, others are entire rewrites of content pages. And some pages still have to be built. Uh, I’m starting to get discouraged again. Most pages are online, but there might be some broken links. If they aren’t fixed in the next update, or you find any other errors (like with psycho WordPress) please let me know.

Switching to WordPress

If things seem a little wonky it’s because I’m in the process of not only changing layouts, but switching the whole site to WordPress. So please bear with me if you find any links not working at this time.

Okay, as of 11:47 PM on June 30, 2009, I am done testing this site, and it will most likely officially be live on the first.
